Change IMEI Number of Mediatek devices...Rooted or Non Rooted.... For those who got screwed...

Please READ THIS CAREFULLY... IF YOU MISS A LINE/CODE... YOU'LL GET SCREWED!!!!

Hi there....
There are 2 methods for changing IMEI...

Method 1- non rooted devices having engineering mode---

this method is for devices having MTK Engineering Mode pre-installed on their android....

first... get Engineering mode starter because codes does not work on all devices..

After installing the apk... open it...

Select "MTK Settings"

swipe to get the tab "Connectivity"

Now in that , select "CDS Information"

Once in CDS Information, select "Radio Information"

If you have single sim or you just want to replace just single sim’s IMEI Number enter this code in the provided area

AT+EGMR=1,7,”XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX”

just replace the "X" with your IMEI from the device packaging

be careful... dont remove the quotes " " the imei should be inside the quotes

If you have dual sim device and you want to change IMEI Number of both the slots then after entering the above code...

enter this one

AT+EGMR=1,10,”XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX”

Now again replace all this "X" with your second slot IMEI Number

again... you DON'T have to remove the quotes" " the imei should be inside the quotes...

Once done, reboot your device....

Done!!! Dial *#06# to see the REPLACED IMEI

METHOD 2- Devices that does not have engineering mode... ---

yeah, most htc devices and etc.. does not have engineering mode... even if it is an mtk device

Your guess might be right.... Your device must be ROOTED...

for rooting devices.... get kingo root or king root.... and then use one click root method...

if it still fails... go for root with the help of your pc... Most lollipop devices won't get rooted easily...

After gaining root access...

DOWNLOAD THIS--- CHAMELEPHON

After Installing Chamelephon, grant its root permissions...

and type in new IMEI's onto the fields...
(or you can generate a new one... there is an option for that)

Click... "Apply new IMEI's"

Done!!

i have posted these methods because i too got screwed last week and googled everywhere... did not found a solution to my lollipop upgraded HTC Desire 820s....so i thought about uploading this stuff....

for rooting my device... i used kingroot... don't confuse it with Kingo
since rooting HTC's lollipop was a big pain in the ass... i used the help of my pc to root...

i hope this video might be helpful....
