Nintendo Switch Bending Problem

Mine is warping in a way that I have not seen in any video. Mine mine is warping slightly like everybody else with this problem except the bottom right corner is curling in and it's getting harder and harder to put the joy-con on and off. It won't be long I won't be able to get it on without breaking something.

I really think this problem is coming from when the switch cools down when it gets hot. That's how plastics usually warp, during the cool down. Maybe if after play sat the switch face down on something soft and as it cools it cool and straighten back out an stay straight so it may actually be bent docks causing warping as when the switch cools it conforms to the shape of the dock

I wonder if anyone who has a warped switch also has a warped dock, because I do.

It isn't bending! Plastic starts bending at around 700 degrees Celsius. And the switch turns off automatically at 70. So it was already bent in the box.

I feel like my switch is bent? I got it on Christmas and out of the box I noticed it was somewhat bent, but I'm really not sure. My cousin also got one and I looked at it, and it looked a little bent. I'm kinda sad because I enjoy basically binge playing my switch, it gets a little hot but I figured it had a really good cooling system...guess I have to shorten my play time :///

Customer service could actually help. Also, the 2nd way to avoid it is the what I do for every system.

you might be right with the switch being bent by temperature, Where i am its cold and the switch its not bent (i could be wrong)

The switch is bending because it's a thin device that gets warm when it's used. As we know metal expands when it's warmed up and the heat pipe is copper so when it cools down it reforms but maybe not in the way it was previously. It shouldn't cause too much problems though the dock is an unfortunate shape if it does happen. The dock was probably designed to try to keep it from bending too much, but it's useless if the switch bends too much.

I bought a used Switch and it doesn't appear to be bent, although I haven't measured it

Mines really curved but it still works like a charm, I don't think it's going to affect anything internally, they should just put a curved display in and then it would be way sexier

Guys the bent wont affect you done cry about it, it happens its fine he wont bend any more than that guys seriously

this is complete an utter bullshit, if anyone really wants to know go ahead and look up the material the switch is made from, it is a high heat resistant type of plastic that cannot be heated even in far higher temperatures than what the graphics chip gets to. This issue is unrelated to heat at all, I believe it is either due to excessive force when holding it or that the unit was originally like this and people just didnt notice it, regardless, this is irrelevant as this does not affect how the switch performs at all, and is hardly even noticed unless you really try to look for it.

I only thought mine was slightly bent cuz I was using a soft case and putting it in my backpack.

ive had mine for about 3 weeks now and it's already starting to have a very faint bend

As long as its playable it's fine I don't mind the warping on my switch

Hey! I know this is late but I had also the same problem and if you just press gently (but with a little bit of force) the bent side it seems it doesn’t harm the screen or breaks at all! Thanks to this my switch isn’t bent anymore!

But... Does it really matter as long as it still fits in the dock and functions properly it's the cracking we should be worried about.

Hmm.. I put in 15 hours at a time some days no warping here 🤔 but there is one thing I certainly can't stand is being able to turn the switch off remotely gosh that's annoying.

Did you ever shut the system off instead of putting it into sleep mode?

IT is not actually bending.... Its An illusion. The only thing that's is changing shape is the thin plastic back. Not the actual console

Thank God I'm not the only one who has had my Switch start to bend. But I am absolutely outraged at the 4 biggest problems the Switch has. Look at it, guys! I'm serious, LOOK. AT. IT:
•Horrible, horrible, horrible online service
•Docking station can scratch the screen, this can thankfully be avoided if you get a glass screen protector (but that shouldn't be required)
•Joy cons and pro controllers can start to drift after a while, sometimes not fixable and you will have to buy new ones.
•And now worst of all, the Switch console gets bent out of shape.

I mean I want to say that the Switch is a masterpiece of a console (because a home console-portable hybrid should be 10/10), I really do, but these 4 issues alone are actually *disgusting*. Nintendo is being disgusting!

The problem with mine is that it’s also bent and it doesn’t dock well to the tv .It would connect for a while then disconnect and then say no signal .Im not sure if it’s because of the bend or maybe the USB port is messed up ?

My charger is also bent it still works though

I just got my switch like 3 days ago and its slightly off

My switch has a slight bend. Didnt notice until today & I was holding it at a certain angle. Doesnt really bother me but everyone is different. Mainly just hoping it doesnt affect or hasnt already effected my switch(effect/affect, always getting those mixed up lol).

In summary, hope Nintendo just fixes the problem for future customers.

Just stepped on mine lightly with a grip case and it bent pretty bad. Can see kids doing this sitting on it. Can bend back and forth, so flimsy!

6 years & this is still an issue? I just realized mine is bent when i was playing smash. Mine got hot & decided to put it on dock & it’s not just sliding in like usual. I’m hoping i just play it on a flat surface, get ut warm enough a couple times & hope it fixes it. If not, I’m gonna have to figure out how to get it repaired

7 years later and mine is starting to do this thankfully the bend is so small and is barely noticeable unless you're actively looking for it so it doesn't bother me too much. It is probably like that because I do play docked sometimes but not all of the time if I had to do a rough estimation it would be like 15% docked 85% undocked
