Since it’s a drift car, make a roof spoiler that covers the roll hoop.

Please cut the role bar that’s going through the back window out it looks horrible………. Yea you can’t see it from the front but it’s a drift car and they go sideways……….. you have already removed so much tubing what’s another 5 bars

Please don’t leave that roll bar above the roofline. You will always look at it and think I could be better. There’s a chance that you could just cut a couple of inches off the bottom and re-weld it back where it was without having to make a new hoop.

Why not section the front of the car behind the front wheels and extended it back so the roof line goes over the roll bar

I agree with you, Ryan, the roofline of the Ghia is an essential design feature that the convertible lacks. With that in mind, please find a solution for that eyesore of a rollbar.

Leaving the roll bar out the back is an absolute trash idea... what is even then point of doing something cool if you half ass it and make it look like redneck trash?

Is there room to lower the seat? That hoop has to be redone.

At this point you might as well cut the rest of the roll cage out as you have ruined any structural rigidity it had. I do have a good name for it though, you can call it the Death Trap !!! As that's what you are building .

I would make a airdam where the roll bar is at top of the roof to hide the rollbar

If you leave the roll cage as is I would do like you said earlier make a spoiler to hide it would look sick with the widebody you will be doing anyway.

Maybe cutting the roof in the middle and extending it with sheet metal is a good idea?, it will allow you to have the bar under the roof and you can make new pillars to connect the back.

Old cars just look so much better than modern cars. Ive got a debumpered racer styled mg midget and it just looks the best from every angle. im all for improving and modifying so keep it up

How are you scared to remake a roll cage? You make car bodies out of sheets of aluminum, which is way harder than tube bending. It's the same physics: One is just a line, and the other is a plane. It's obviously more complicated than that, but ehh same same.

As you are running a rear rad - could you turn the roll bar into some kind of roof scoop? bit like a rs200?

One potential roll bar solution, as I hate to see the lovely lines of that Ghia interrupted by a roll bar… There are tons of bolt in roll bar/roll cage options for the 944. It might be easier to get one and modify it so that you can preserve the original lines of the car. You may be able to just trim off a few inches from the hoop portion of the cage and get you the perfect look with the least amount of fabrication.

guys cut that roll cage out and just do it properly... after all things you do building a proper cage is easy... this looks wrong...of coarse enjoying the Banter... and looking forward to seeing the outcome
