what a sick and twisted society we have where teaching children to be 'financially literate' is becoming more and more mandatory. perhaps instead we should spread the immense wealth of the country more equally so young people aren't starving and unable to even afford rent? no? more money to billionaires instead...?

SOMEone needs to teach kids financial literacy. It's such an important life skill, and a lack of it can lead to SO much avoidable pain and struggle. They're up against it, with our instant gratification society, bombarded by targeted online ads and the easy availability of pay later schemes, on top of them only truly developing self control in their teenage years... Ignorance isn't always bliss, but knowledge is always power.
