Today I would like to introduce you to a very new and recent development in the range of milk-based coffee drinks which is the flat white.

The flat white comes from Australia and it's basically a double espresso topped up with milk that is not densely frothed. At the end, we'll have a very thin layer of milk froth on top so what we need is a double espresso, which is a huge difference to the regular cappuccino.

I like to use a glass because then you can see what the coffee looks like and you can see the real thin layer of froth on top. First, pour the double shot into a glass and then we pour in the milk from the Latte Art Factory, a commercial milk frothing machine.

As you can see, you have the double espresso and now you have the milk foam coming into the glass. See you have this nicely cascading effect like in a Guinness glass right now which creates this thin layer at the top of the coffee and makes the coffee and the milk settle at the bottom.
