Shore breaks like that are super powerful and scary! People seriously underestimate the power. That sand shelf probably drops off fast and the only way you are getting back to shore is staying on top and letting the wave push Tumble you. Try to stay under the wave and swim will only carry you out.

Probably one of those stupid romantic ventures young people talk each other into. Hard way to learn a lesson. How sad, the boy tried very hard to get her back to shore, but those waves and current will wear a person out real quick, by the time they realised they were in trouble, they would have already been exhausted. He was trying to recover some energy and hoped he would be able to locate her, but obviously it was too late, and even if he had gone back in to get her, it probably would have ended up being both of them . drama movies entice this type of thing. Never listen to anyone suggesting anything dangerous, as silly women will talk men into all sorts of stupid, dangerous things, believing that the man can save them from anything, but its not true.,. a clever woman talks sence into anyone suggesting unnessasarry danger.

Sorry, but those waves were very strong and he was trying to push her back to shore,. Both of them where overwhelmed by the drag back and there was nothing he could do,. He would never have been able to get her out, as he wouldn't have even been able to locate her. He had no choice but to accept that she was taken and he wasn't. It is a very sad situation, but knowing the beach and how dangerous it is, i can see that he was distraught about it and he tried to push her to shore.

Why did it look like at one point he held her there
