i prefer you use tabs than saying the notes but its alright

how can we determine which slapping is for me? I seem to be more comfortable doing thumb down but I can see the upside from thumb parallel / up but it is quite hard to get it right.

68 years ago in 1955. I was born in Detroit, Motown.

And while I was a little white Jewish kid of 7 years of age. Daddy, who was a fine concert violinist.. With the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Also played string tracks for Motown. And started taking me down to the studio when I was only 7 years old.

My daddy this fine violinist. Did not like playing these R&B violin tracks. Why not daddy? He told me it was no real challenge for him. It was just open cords and tremolo's. He told me. But daddy it sounds so cool, I said. And I did not know? I had gotten bit by the R&B Bug. As a kid. And I really dig Funk. So?

For years and years. I was a horn player and engineer. I thought about playing drums.. They are really too loud. And I thought about playing Bass Guitar. I never really have. Never touched one. But I've been thinking about it in my retirement for fun. You just answered a bunch of questions for me.. Thank you Scott, thank you. You have explained it in a particular way. The other American and British guys have not explained. Because it just comes natural to them. Through practice. Making perfect. But not really telling us how to do that. Like you have here with Technique.. It's all about the technique. I saw and heard that. In both of my parents. World-class musicians pose. It's all about the technique. Not so much about the instrument, itself. As long as it works.

But the picking and the popping on the thumping and the slapping. Oh yeah thank you. I needed that. You filled the gap. Now I may go to my local Music Pawn shop and get me one? Actually… My Associate Engineer. Tyler Speicher is a wonderful guitarist and perv engineer/producer. And I'm going to give him my late husband's, acoustic and original, Sears silver town, electric Guitar. With the built-in tube amplifier. In the lovely rectangular case. With built-in speaker. Virtually like new. As my late husband never really played it. And got it somewhere around 1971? It's beautiful. And the acoustic is this little handmade acoustic guitar purchased in Mexico. In a little town made by a little Mexican man. And he says it plays very nice. I've never played a string instrument before. And my late husband's guitars should get a good home. And I know they will with Tyler. He's like a son I never had. He's a wonderful friend. The best. And such a wonderful producer/engineer. I'm so fortunate.. He would seek me out. But due to Texan psychopaths coupled with a destructive virus. That was the end of my, life, career, business. Because psychopath Texans deemed it so. And he saw it happen to me.

So Texas and home Friday and hatched psychopath Texans. Have seen to it destroying my life and my career. Because they are conservative Christian Republicunt's. And I will hate them for the rest of my life. For what they've done to me. As an American who is a disabled handicap senior citizen. And only came to Texas to record music and help some younger engineers out. As I was helped by older engineers when I was a younger engineer. But psychopath Texans decided otherwise. And they were elected. They are scumbag Republicunt's. And they destroy Americans lives, they don't like. Because they are not Americans anymore. They are psycho fascist Nazi pigs. Out for blood. Yeah one night I freaked. I'm sitting in my recording truck control room. Mixing some rock 'n' roll tracks from a previous recording. And suddenly I started getting this smell in my control room. I know that smell. It is getting stronger. It is getting very strong. Oh no?

I quietly walked out the door of my truck. And look underneath the frame. Who is this looking back at me? Why are you sitting under my truck? You are a skunk. Please leave. Before you destroy my facility. Please? Please go. BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK! That worked. He believed me. He will go find another vehicle to sleep underneath. Not mine. Ugh! My control room stank. For about the next week. Until plenty of cigarettes marijuana and bad breath. Had been well distributed throughout. And remember do not play with skunks. Except in Palmdale California. I'm just saying…

Slap bass is not awesome, if I’m in a jam room and a guy strolls in with a 5 string bass I think…f**kin hell here we go 😢

I can't seem to slap through the string without deadening the note with my thumb. I can slap on top of the string fine.

i don't hear 2 ghost notes slapped in the Fly Away. In the music video you can even see that the bass player doesn't play them. There is just one before the slides.
