The difference between ports on consumer grade router vs a mini PC with multiple network interfaces.
A common misconception for new users of pfSense/OPNsense is that the interfaces on a mini PC are bridged together in hardware like they often are with consumer grade routers. Each interface is treated independently.
While you can bridge ports in software via pfSense/OPNsense, it is generally not recommended to do so since it may degrade network performance depending on the hardware and network utilization.
