This is super impressive as usual. I rewatched an old video yesterday were Andreas shows very early versions of Serenity and I think `ls` or a similar shell utility crashed. And look at it now running HL!

There is always a bunch of awesome stuff in these monthly update videos that I've totally missed in the PR queue. (:

Amazing and impressive! I would like to thank you personally for being so inspiring, during the pandemic I really hit a low point, but your videos are just so great and watchable and so is your project.

I was inspired by you and your history, to revive an old dream of mine about writing my own operating system, just as a hobby, for fun and distraction from university and the new variant or whatever is going on right now.

Sincerily thank you for your inspiration, your videos and your project, thank you :)

I've always wondered what you could really do with pure CPU SIMD use. This is crazy.

Awesome(Kling) Update, perfect to bring in the New Year. The continuity of the camera view was noticable too. (4 previous attempts to post were deleted, guess I'll just have to keep it simple)

Wow, that Minecraft background made me think this OS is going to gain a lot of attention once it can run Minecraft and other Java-based apps and games. And with libGL progressing so nicely, more interesting stuff seem to be possible in a not too distant future. :D I know someone has to do everything, but at the rate SerenityOS advances, betting on progress is nothing but common sense. :P

Great work, everyone! ♥

Thanks for your comments about my contributions! This is my first time contributing to an open-source project and it’s super weird to see my contributions in the monthly update videos I’ve been watching for a couple years, super motivating to keep contributing and keep helping this project get better and better :^)

senerity os is awesome... is it too far of running on real hardware? even if a old machine like a p3/p4 machine?

That's the most impressive monthly update in some time if not flat out the best one yet!

NVME SUPPORT!?! YEAH!!!

The OpenGL section was top notch and I was blown away by the improvements to Quake, HL and hack studio and the ever increasing layers of polish and cool additions like that feature to search the menus for options. Such a nice integration!

Imagine where Serenity will be in 5 years if it maintains this rate of improvement?

This project got my attention after listening to the CoRecursive podcast interview. I've been going through the YT backlog car talks and updates and it's been an amazing ride to see it build up to something I want to start using as my main OS. Brings back the joy of learning to use PCs and Windows in the late 90's. For me programming and Linux came a lot later in life but made me completely fall in love with computers again.
Thank you thank you thank you Andreas and the whole community for doing this! I hope I can start contribute in some form some day.

I question though what do we call Serenity User Groups - SUG means "suck" in Swedish :D

I think you're the only one(in the entire os dev community) that has finished you're own fully functional and completed operating system. My respect for you is outstanding cuz I can never keep myself motivated for more than a week at a time, my entire life will pass by name I complete even 5% of a fully functional hobby OS

I’m hoping that Microsoft don’t start to hassle these people as they are doing a sterling job and showing what open source can do.
