No slots for any of the WC podium except the winner? That's gonna piss some people off. And winner has to do nothing all the next year except train for this one race again? Not very fair unless you want to heavily rig the same person to win over and over again.

Don't love the new pro qualification standards. I would expand to guaranteed slots to top-5, or even top-10 at the World Champs, and do away with validation. Let the top competitors plan their season so that they can be their best at the World Champs. They've done the opposite. Making people race the full distance just invites injury & over-racing. Clear they want people to do IM instead of focusing on T100. Forcing people to race versus giving a people a reason to do your races. Athletes will choose IM if they give more generous appearance fees/travel/lodging/prize money.
