I kept thinking you hadn't made much headway on your Route 1 journey. But then I checked out the Route map and you have indeed put in the miles. Looks like you are about 1/3rd of the length so far.

Wow! So much fun! A video packed full of stuff! God Bless America! I really liked seeing the old-timey car dealership because I sold cars to put myself through college.

P.S. I hope Jenn was okay during the earthquake today.

Some of the founders of the United States were Freemasons like George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. The Masonic ideas and rituals influenced the framing Constitution and Declaration of Independence.

I've been to DC twice. First time I arrived and went to the Smithsonian History Museum and forgot I was carrying my pocket knife. They couldn't let me in because of that. Second time the Smithsonian Museums were closed because of Covid.

YESSS, I definitely miss life before cell phones !!! Great video Jacob. Good thing you didn't have to climb those 900 steps in the Washington Monument after climbing Bunker Hill's monument !!! The National Archive was very interesting & the Smithsonian Museums were awesome !!! Thanks Jacob for taking us along with you on this adventure !!! 🙂🤠

Funnily enough, I think I may have just missed seeing you at the White House! We tried to get tickets to the Washington Monument and just as you said, we couldn't. We also went to the archives and seeing the Declaration did make me a bit emotional. I'm related to three of the signers and it meant a lot to see their signatures in person. Glad you had a great visit!

Thanks Jacob for a wonderful tour of DC and for the trip down memory lane.

Life before cell phones was better. Marriages were safer from temptation. Bullying was not as prominent. But has advantages of being connected to loved ones and emergency services. The young generation now has been made lazier and dependent on them for everything.

DC really has some of the best museums. I know your summer is really planned out but if you pass by DC again you should go to Six Flags America since America's oldest still operating rollercoater closes at the end of this season.

I also forgot to say in your past videos. When you were more north like in CT, rt 1 is called post road. It is actual the old King's Road. That is the first road which connected Boston to Charleston way before cars were ever a thought.

When I'd see the Beach Boys concert at the monument on the news, I'd beg my dad to go to the next one. He said no. Too much traffic.

When I was a kid i and my parents walked up all the steps to the top of the Washington monument. Another thing I wanted to mention is about the places to see dark sky's are many out west because I've traveled out west at night and there are miriad of stars at night so that exhibit was incorrect.

When I was a kid in the 90s I lived outside DC and had a family friend who worked for the Secret Service. He took us on a night tour of the White House when Bill Clinton was out of town and I was able to go into pretty much everywhere but the war room. I've been in the Oval Office and the Lincoln Bedroom. I even have a picture standing behind the press podium on the wall of my apartment. 9/11 Changed Washington DC so much, I wish we could go back.
