I think that's crazy. I just bought mine 2 weeks ago... it fired everything I put in it perfectly. Cleaned it lubed it light round ring and after 100 rounds I didn't have one issue even with old 1150fps Peter's shells I found at a yard sale years ago.
For those interested this VR80 is a best and works flawlessly for me .... worth every penny in my book
Low brass will fail in just about any mag fed shotgun.
I had a FedArms fr-99, bps-12, and Saiga 12.
All didn't like low brass
There was no way in hell you should have to do all of those mods to get that shotgun to function correctly
ОтветитьThanks,I thought after that gun was turned up it was a good weapon. Personally I like it. Good job on the tune up and demonstrating of the weapon 👍
ОтветитьAll I did was break it down and clean it. Left the bolt locked back in my safe for 3 weeks while manually cycling it everyday 50 reps and haven’t had a single malfunction yet. No need in doing all the other stuff with my experience. Thing is freakin awesome
ОтветитьIt takes over 30 days to soften the buffer spring, which is the issue. Pull the charging handle to the rear and let it sit. We all learn.
ОтветитьJust don't shoot cheap low brass ammo until you run 100 or so High brass shells. It will be fine, and in turn run the low brass ammo. Start with shells over 1300 fps
ОтветитьI think that the shotgun ships in grease that must be cleaned out before use.
ОтветитьYep, I have a very nice Benelli shotgun that’s went through 100s of shells with no problem, then I shot a few low brass shells and it jammed almost every time. Ps bird shot only
ОтветитьLove my vr80 would like to change the butt stock and hand grip tho
ОтветитьHow did you get the drum to fit?
ОтветитьYep, you gotta shoot a lot of heavier loads to break in this shotgun........Sounds like fun to me.
ОтветитьHad my VR80 for a year and didn’t no you can change the charging handle to the other side
ОтветитьI have heard they need breaking in
Ответитьrun high velocity ammo, anything over 1300 fps and it will cycle flawlessly
ОтветитьSounds good 🔥🔥🔥
ОтветитьGotta get one
ОтветитьThe link for the 20 Round Drum Mag is broke
ОтветитьCould have saved you a ton of ammo. Lock the bolt back for about two weeks out of the box. You will have next to zero problems. I think I stove piped once after I did that. Their forums are full of post saying the same thing. Cuts down on break in by locking the bolt back and just letting it sit for a while. Mine sat for three weeks then shot like a champ except one shot. Have put about 500ish rounds through her and LOVE IT. Up next the VR82 ;)
ОтветитьThis video from start to finish probably cost around $2000, including the gun and all camera equipment.
Ответитьcan run that light stuff in there only 1350 fps plus. never run low brass or birdshot only 00 buck and slugs and 000 buck
ОтветитьThis shotgun needs an extensive deep cleaning prior to use. They ship with a thick packing grease. Afterwards, it functions flawlessly.
ОтветитьThe Weak stuff (ammo)
ОтветитьJunk
Ответитьwhats the hiphop song that plays at the beginning.?
ОтветитьGet a small tube of graphite powder from the parts house pour it in your drum will improve cycling.
ОтветитьI'm guessing you need 2 3/4 shells only. Those 3 inch shells might be too long after you shoot
ОтветитьI have one, I ran a case of 3in magnum through it to break it in and it ran fine on light loads after that.
ОтветитьFor fire. 2 Gal weed/bug sprayer.
ОтветитьWhere do i find this drum mag? Cant seem to find one!
ОтветитьQuestion, modifying the gas port holes. Enlarging them does exactly what? Is that something the manufacturer suggested or have they made that change at the factory.
Cool video, great information
I want one
Ответитьpro mag magazines are known to be junk though.
ОтветитьI have a VR82 in 20ga. I put a Magpul Fixed Carbine Buttstock, Tapco SAW pistol grip, Sightmark holo sight and Tapco sling on it. Love it!
ОтветитьWhen you get the VR80 lock the bolt back and store locked for 30 days it will loosen the spring up and it will fire fine
ОтветитьI have a vr80 and first shoot jammed all the time a you tuber showed factory mags need to be filed on th ears on top once don never had trouble again also bought the Sam drum but made sure it didn’t have the same problem. Love it now we own 2 boss 25 also
ОтветитьI have a VR70, I guarantee you he’s not running high enough brass to get it to eject properly.
Also when you put the safety switch on, you cannot get the shell to eject as it locks the mechanism.
I stored mine for 20+ days locked back to break in the spring and first time shooting went through 165 rounds without a single jam.
User error IMO
The vr80 is a very nice rifle by RIA for sporting and hunting in a Ar15 style why would you call it an assault 12ga shot gun in the title of your video.who and what are you assaulting.
ОтветитьI bought one a year ago and it functioned perfectly right out of the box. Buck, bird, or slug it shot everything I put in it with zero hiccups! And that was from round 1 with NO breakin. So maybe RIA did some fine tuning? Or I just got really lucky? I don't know, anyway for mods I removed the thumbhole stock and went with MAGPUL CTR stock and MOE-K2+ grip. I also switched to the long hand guard with M-LOC on all 4 sides from Advanced Tactical (I didn't like how the factory hand guard had no PIC rail or slots on the bottom) this allowed me to put a short piece of MAGPUL pic rail on the bottom in case I wanted to attach a bipod, and also added the MAGPUL angled foregrip. On top I have a Vortex Strikefire red dot with a Vortex 3X magnifier. Out front I have a STREAMLIGHT ProTac Rail Mount HL-X Laser mounted on the left side because I am a mutant, with the pressure switch on top. I'm really digging it now that I have it setup the way I want it. It's pretty BADASS!!! FYI if anyone wants a drum I bought an actual Turkish made 20 rnd drum from Classic Firearms for much cheaper than a Promag!!!
ОтветитьSo does that have a switch on it that switches from semi auto to full auto? Why are you calling it an assault shotgun? I write away look at that and think I don’t wanna watch it
ОтветитьAfter the initial break in period using high brass, I still had problems with it cycling anything less than 1300 fps. Would hiccup on 1250 fps and would not run on anything less at all. Figured out as long as I use 1 1/8 oz it will run anything. I use 1145 fps 1 1/8 oz all the time now and no problems.
ОтветитьI saw the word assault and I decided not to watch right then because an assault shotgun or rifle has to have a switch that goes from semi to full Eye automatic to be a true assault shotgun. I don’t even want to watch it if he can’t use the correct language.
ОтветитьWhat ever the break in period is, at least double it and you’ll be good. My VRBP100 recommended 75 rounds of 3” 1 1/8oz 1400fps shells so I did 225 rounds of 3” 1 1/8 1600fps and it’s been flawless
ОтветитьJams due to low grain shells
Ответитьare those drum mags legal in CA, of not ill send you the money if you can ship me one 😅
ОтветитьWhy didn't you start with the factory mags?
ОтветитьFavorite gun I've ever bought but can't shoot it. Safety switch is installed backwards. Flip the lever to "Fire" it's on Safety. Flip the switch to "SAFE" and bump trigger gun goes off. Stupid manufacturing. Extremely dangerous.
ОтветитьGotta break em in with high brass loads before try cheap shells/bullets such as bird shot and what not... I figured a body knew that but I reckon not .... Smh...
ОтветитьSome folks just shouldnt be allowed to own a gun of this magnitude 😂
Ответить
