Natural point of aim is what I have strived for.with shooting iron sights. I don't know why i didn't think to apply it to the red dot . I guess its the mental hang up. Of thinking i have to change way more things to be good with a red dot.
ОтветитьWhat is the recommended distance for zeroing a red dot sight?
ОтветитьVery helpful. Thx
ОтветитьHere after finding out I shoot like I’m blind with a red dot 🤣. Good with irons but that red dot is totally different
ОтветитьI’m extremely new to optics I just put a defender ccw on my 545 am I supposed to be lining the dot with my front sight? Like I’m using iron sights? Sorry to sound like such a newb
ОтветитьGood video. Just put a (green) dot on my pistol and trying to figure out the best way to use it. I'm really good at shooting iron sights but wanted to see what I was missing with dots. I have shot with dots in the past on rental or borrowed guns and hated them (the wobble thing), and couldn't accurately hit anything. Now I have a better understanding of what to do. I'm sure it's going to take a lot of practice with this optic, but to be good at anything, it takes a lot of practice.
ОтветитьThanks
I will give these a try.
Thanks dude!
ОтветитьI don't care about the dot moving or not. What I'm worried about is simply finding the damned thing. It takes forever for me to even see the it.
NOT. COOL.
I tried a dot for 6 months, then took the goddamned thing off. Complete waste of money. I can always, always find the front sight *instantly*.
Pistols are defensive weapons only. Ain't nobody got time for like you say, "fishing" for the dot. If it's the absolute worst day of my life and I actually have to use my pistol to protect myself or my family, and I'm in a fight past 10 yards, I'm not firing the pistol anyway, I'm running the other direction or trying to find cover.
This was incredibly helpful. Thank you. Old dog learning new trickers here
ОтветитьThanks! Im thinking about trying the unlimited class in GSSF next year. This red dot advice helps a lot. Merry Christmas!
ОтветитьI have two tips. Don’t take “gun safety” advice from Alec Baldwin and don’t take “how to load a shotgun” advice from Wanna be Tim Walz.
Ответить👍
ОтветитьExcellent information!!
💪💪
The eye close and draw is a new one on me. But I shot to qualify, which is a different type of shooting for 22 years with 16's to M-4's to M-1 and everything down to the M-2 Beretta. I just put my 1st red dot on my canik TTI and can't wait for the chance to use your tips on the range. In the meantime, I'll do dry fire exercises until then. Thanks for the video.
ОтветитьExcellent tutorial! I’ve just installed my first red dot on my 43x and have had those moments of trying to find the dot while practicing to use it in and around my home.
ОтветитьThe re-present vs fishing!!!!
Ответитьinstructions unclear, deported my toaster to israel
ОтветитьI shot with a red dot for the first time yesterday. It definitely took time to start to get used to it. I think your tips will help me the next time I'm at the range.
ОтветитьI tried for the 1st time today but finding the dot was tough for me. I need to qualify at some point. I have no chose but to qualify with the new gun.
ОтветитьThanks for saving me a ton of money on ammo trying to figure it out on my own.
ОтветитьJust mounted my first pistol optic. Your advice was great. Thanks
ОтветитьCrap
ОтветитьThis video was extremely helpful, I had a hard time the first time using my red dot at the range and was even thinking about giving it up. Proper training and practice is truly the key! Thank you guys!!!
ОтветитьVery helpful
ОтветитьMy iron sights are still visible through the red dot - Lower 1/3 co witness. You can use the iron sights 'the old fashioned way', and the dot will be right there. I agree that training your NPOA is very valuable with any type of combat or defensive firearm.
ОтветитьThis helped so much. I have had dots for awhile and hate them. This video is helping
ОтветитьJoe what gun were you shooting on the range with the red dot...?????? Thanks good tips...
ОтветитьI think we’ve found PewViews long lost brother.
ОтветитьMy issue it I have a great natural poa with iron. So now doing reps with a red dot the dot is always low in the screen. That said I am far better with my acrop2 with irons forward then I am with my trijicon rcr with standard iron placement. So for me I'm trying g to focus on one sight set up with the same red dot. I made it hard having two pistols done at the same time with different red dots on them. The guns are identical other then caliber. (GLOCK22 AND 17)
ОтветитьComing from iron sights, it's natural to want to lift the gun and get the sight picture. For red dots, it's better to draw from the holster and drive the gun out. Red dot should be right there.
ОтветитьRed dots are a waste of money. I use iron sights at a 35-40 yards with my Pistols, 50 with my Revolvers (COLT KING COBRA) in 357 mag. and about 75-120 yards with my AR. ( all basic full metal jackets) no high velocity as ammo is very expensive. The only time I use an Optic is with a hunting rifle that’s calibrated for up to a 300 yards. Beyond that I don’t see the need to shot at anything or even aim at anything. Folks are competitive and do all sorts of stuff. I ain’t one of them.
ОтветитьThnxs, great video AND info.
ОтветитьDraw straight out. Don’t draw and swing your arm up to the eye level. You will always miss high. Both eyes opened allows you immediate dot acquisition. Perfectly zero the red dot to the gun. Only then, can you trust your gun to be perfectly on target. Practice draw and aim without firing. It will quickly become natural.
ОтветитьThe video I needed! Nice job
ОтветитьI hated my red dot. Took way to much time to acquire the dot compared to the fiber site I normally use. It reminded me of laser sights. Even at the range the dot moves all over the place. Just think what's going to happen when you actually have to shoot and have a gun pointed at you.
ОтветитьI was looking for a visual
ОтветитьI can’t keep both eyes open when shooting a red dot it makes everything blurry so I have to close my left eye.
ОтветитьExcellent advice,,,,love it ,,,rgds Lesrobert
ОтветитьI’m completely new to guns, I’m not familiar with irons or red dot but I just about have a dot on every gun I own bc it helps me aim better. With that said, this video really helped me understand red dots better. Sight acceptability was crucial for me as well as keeping both eyes open.
ОтветитьI had a vortex red dot on my taurus g2c and first time ever shooting reddot on the civilian side. My dot would like jump around real bad n no longer be zeroed in anymore. Forgot the technical term for that but found out it was possibly a bad red dot? It just baffled me n really irratated me that i spent 250 n came to be trash.
ОтветитьHeLP HELP I have a Smith & Wesson m&p sport 2 I put a good break on it and a heavier buffer now it's shooting more flat gas block and you can't put a whole rail system on it so fine you know it's like 8 inches of picking 10 year and lock 100 yd and for some reason the rifles moving all over the place before I even shoot I'm not scared of the bag I've been shooting since I was 8 years old on and off I really don't get it I can use the gun at home you know and put little post-it notes all over the walls and move that gun around no problem it's not the recoil it's like almost a anxiety problem man sing with the Red Dot my first Red Dawn on my handgun lpvo on that rifle now it is a little heavy so I just started lifting weights a bunch and I got all this equipment so I lost $105 lb in 6 months . I just am looking for a video to you know somebody that doesn't use the claw because I have severe rheumatoid arthritis somebody that actually you know I have a vertical grip on my 16 inch Smith & Wesson and I kind of use that as a stop in between a claw and you know holding on to that group it's just comfortable for my messed up and sitting down I can shoot playing cards standing up I can't shoot s***HELEP
ОтветитьTips 1 thru 3 are dumb
ОтветитьMakes sense. thanks.
ОтветитьThank You! Female shooter learning for steel👍
ОтветитьAll great tips! Thank you!
ОтветитьGreat video, please wear sunscreen!
ОтветитьFocused on the target always. Dry fire from the draw until the red dot, your pistol, arms and eyes are aligned every time and do that multiple times a week.
ОтветитьWhich pistol is he using?
Ответить
