Why banning smart phones in schools is a bad idea

One of the points in banning phones in schools is, they are a distraction from developing study habits that will carry them through college. You study; your phone doesn't.

Also, the Silicon Valley App Developers don't use their phones directly, they use desktop phone Emulation/Virtualization to program. I doubt there will ever be a time where you will do all your work on your smartphone.

So if we banned smart phones nothing will be lost... matter of fact these App Developers use desktop chat programs to communicate not their phones.
