I first heard of turpulence in the movie, "A Knight's Tale."
Chaucer: Yes, behold my lord Ulrich, the rock, the hard place, like a wind from Gelderland he sweeps by blown far from his homeland in search of glory and honor, we walk... in the garden of his turpulence!
Hey Steve. Question for you. Have you ever heard of a scheduled direct flight having to just before departure plan an unscheduled stop for fuel because of weights and balances? We were basically told that due to key west runway length and the fact that the flight was full the e175 couldn’t take off with enough fuel to make it to LGA.
ОтветитьI used to be afraid of flying. It was awful. But I overcame it. I overcame it by flying regularly. It's the only thing that works. Fly enough that you get used to it. No online course can s7bstitute for that.
ОтветитьQuestion for the next episode: Have you ever had to get on the PA and yell at the passengers for not complying with signs and crew instructions? If so, what were the circumstances?
ОтветитьCaptain Steeve
i never been in a plane and lowkey im scared what do i do to get over the fear especially with the recent events with aviation
Is it easy to decipher who’s an ex military pilot? I’ve had an Air France pilot almost send us into 0g on approach and I think he’s ex military
ОтветитьAre pilots undergoing breathalyzer tests before their flights? Or perhaps you're inquiring about other substances?
ОтветитьI have a question Captain Steve do you know what a consonant is? You should’ve said we have an online course online course not a online course.
ОтветитьSo I take it you can't tell us the procedure for someone trying to open the door?
ОтветитьI decided to get over my fear of heights and flying by getting my private pilots license. I had no choice if they had to do or die.
ОтветитьTwo I️ think god questions. When I️ learned to fly I️ originally trained in a Cessna 172 and 172sp. I️ learned all analog instruments both night and day. Do the new commercial jets have analog that if you lost all avionics you could use ? I️ know there’s a ton of back up systems for the avionics and electronics.
Also on one flight in particular the cabin crew was absolutely hilarious and entertaining in the pre flight FAA required instructions. Have you had any cabin crews who had fun with this and can you share. They were great. They didn’t disrespect it but by adding humor they attracted everyone’s attention rather than the cut and dry speeches people often ignore. They got the whole cabins attention and a round of applause and it was a gear opener for the flight.
Have you seen differences in culture between different airlines from different countries on seat belts?
US airlines seem to use seatbelt sign on the slightest turbulence - but everyone ignores the signs (worried about being sued if someone hurts themselves?)
Some European airlines are in the middle, whilst others are very strict and even flight attendants often go and buckle up, even if it's not expected to be severe!
It's noticeable how much more they are on on American Airlines :)
What airline do you fly for? New to your channel!
ОтветитьEnlightening and enjoyaable
ОтветитьWhat are you selling now ?
I thought I’d blocked you months ago.
My question would be about the current political situation. With FAA at skeletal staff and all of the blips in communication and frequent crashes, how do we know that flying is actually safe?
ОтветитьI believe in leaving in the whole time seated. However, I need to use the toilet (as you eluded to), and need to stand up for a while on long flights.
ОтветитьDo any other countries' FAA-equivalents have different things that need to be announced?
ОтветитьQ: you as a pilot, can you talk to other pilots while in the sky and on the ground
ОтветитьIt’s all about the landing, smoother for every airline except Southwest for Southwest it’s catch the three wire.
ОтветитьI heard guard is mostly for pilots meowing at each other.
ОтветитьQuestion: Why airplanes don't use sensor with LED light on top of passengers to see who didn't fasten seat belt as well dashboard at flight attendant to monitor?
ОтветитьSteve I thought I was the only pilot with the fear of heights. I am finding out many pilots are too. What's your opinion talking to other pilots?
ОтветитьHave you ever raced another plane on a parallel runway approach such as SFO, BOS or LAX?
ОтветитьI’m glad the cockpit is secure now, but when I grew up in the 70’s you could go up and say hello to the pilots during the flight and they would give you little golden wings. It was a different time. ❤
ОтветитьIs there a separate WC for pilots / crew on board?
ОтветитьWhere did you do your education?
ОтветитьI respect the WIRED production copy. Have you tried contacting WIRED to make this video an actual legit video?
ОтветитьI've definitely crossed the pond with you now that I know you introduce your copilots as Brad and George
ОтветитьSurprised he didn’t mention that pilots can carry a gun in the cockpit, if they choose to. That’s also a major security measure. 🤷🏽♂️
Ответить“They’re all throttle, no thrust”
ОтветитьHave coworker I want to gift that course to!
ОтветитьHave you ever accidentally clicked the PA button instead of the radio button and started talking to the cabin instead of ATC
ОтветитьCaptain, how common is tnnitus among pilots
ОтветитьOn my flight literally yesterday the captain put the "put away all electronics" light on (a light i never even knew existed) instead of the fasten seat belts sign when it was time to land
ОтветитьWould you recommend going into the military if your end goal would be a commercial ATP?
ОтветитьNever mind, renonrecord, you'll be going out with girls soon and you'll forget all about it.
ОтветитьI can’t wait for your new course on overcoming your fear of flying! Thank you captain steve!
ОтветитьHello captain! Love your channel, I have a question for your next episode: Have you ever been in a situation where your TCAS was activated?
ОтветитьI thought the term "copilot" was a no no with pilots. First Officer.
ОтветитьA question not on this list? Why are the wings bent up on the tips on some planes, and not on others. What is the advantage, thanks
ОтветитьDon’t know if it’s been asked so I’ll ask. Had you not became a pilot, what would have been another career choice?
ОтветитьThank you Captain Steve especially for the last question as I’m always scared when turbulence occur … and yes I want to buy that course about overcoming fear of flying!
ОтветитьHey Captain! How do waypoints get their names?
ОтветитьLooking forward to your 'nervous flyer' course, Captain Steeeve! Last time I was on a plane, I was taking a flight to SEA, with a layover in PHX. I was so rattled that after landing in PHX, I ended up renting a car and driving the rest of the way to Seattle. Needless to say, that cost me a lot more time and money. Anyway, I've got an Aer Lingus flight to DUB next fall, so I'd much rather enjoy the business class flight than be anxious for seven hours!
ОтветитьUnder §403, aren’t I allowed to at least try to fit my instrument in an overhead bin (even though I know it will from experience)? Asking on behalf of the numerous gate agents & flight attendants I’ve dealt with who should know better.
ОтветитьI want this man as my pilot.
