I used to be around shredders , thiese players will have you believe it was all about thin necks, but when I try the 50 styles , it made me focus on slowing down and listening more .

They all sound like rock & roll - which is what you want, and they all deliver similarly.

My Tribute sounds as much like a Gibson Les Paul as any.

You did a great job on this video I needed to quickly understand the differences between all the Les Pauls and you really helped. The Standard 50s is the one I should look for and the others, once I understood the differences, were obviously not for me. I think it would be the case for anyone. Know the options and then go for what suits you and your journey. Cheers!

I was hell bent on getting the 60s for it's slim taper neck but after hearing this demo I think the Classic sounded the best. And it's modest look speaks to me the most as well.

Id like to see the Classic vs the Modern as they are both in the modern collection.

Ive wanted a Gibson for many yrs. Now that i can afford it they dont make what i want. Why in gods name do they make Les Pauls with freaking coil splitting? If i want single coil sound i have a strat and tele to do that. I want a LP with 57 classics in a Lemonburst or Desertburst or Heritage Cherry. But sadly they dont make it. Its really frustrating and sad that they dont make this guitar. A basic guitar with no extras but it doesnt exist. Im looking at older Gibsons on Reverb and sites like that but im only willing to pay $1500 max. Ive found some for over 2k but im not willing to spend that much.

To my surprise I liked the Les Paul Standard 60 the best. And not the 50.

Did he just say that that Slash Standard had a AAA top? I didn't see any figuring at all, let alone flame. He even said the regular Standard didn't have as nice of a top, yet it actually had some flaming. Am I crazy? I'm watching this on a phone, so did I miss something?

They made a slash guitar? Slash played a fake “imitation” guitar. So Gibson made an authentic copy of the copy?

I picked up a single les Paul last week at my local store. The pickup selector didn’t work. Nothing changes.

I LOVE the Classic with the out of phase ability!!
And the sustain seems to better than the other three.
Does it have the tapered neck, where it bolts to the body for easy access to the high register ?
You never did show that, if it does. I saw another utube channel where they do, and I could have sworn that the Classic has that feature too. Does it?
By the way, I’ve watched you do a Randy Rhodes Tribute and I have to say, you’re a great player ! Love Ya Man !!! Ha!!

I have had many of these guitars in my 58 years of life.
I recently spent $12,000 buying 4 of these beauties.
I will spend more money in the future, and I will have more Gibson les paul guitars.
It is a life long love affair.

The 50's les paul sounded the best.

I prefer les paul custom black beauty than slash, and for all around i pick traditional pro III - IV - V ,and for newbie i choose studio for value or standard 50's (classic tone) / traditional (beefy tone) if you have more budget

Ironically 60s les Paul’s didn’t fade because the red dye was better so the unburst would not have faded as much

The 2020 slash LP's are utter garbage, i got rid of mine and got an SG Standard, and also have a 1994 LP Studio which is vastly superior to the Slash one, people to need to realise that signature guitars are just a cash grab, see the new Joe bannanobba 63 Epiphone SG, £1500 for an Asian made guitar with cheap pickups ???. Look for 90's LPs instead of buying these new modern LPs from gibson.

my taste would be the 50's and solid body, this classic has the best sound and is extremely beautiful😍.. I wonder if there is this same look as this classic with a solid body and 50' neck!?

When are YOU going on tour? And what are the dates?

After watching many reviews I bought a ‘50s gold top standard used with upgrades , Seymour distortion pickup at bridge and Seymour jazz at neck ,also Kluson gold tuners , all original parts came with it and all original case candy as well , this guitar sounds amazing!!!
Next I bought a new Slash signature series “ November Rain” burst , excellent guitar but I need to get a set up done to it and action is really low and getting Iight buzz high up .
The feel and sound from these guitars is amazing even unplugged in a quiet room. I’ve wanted a gold top since 1987 when my music theory teacher had and used during lessons a ‘69 gold top I swore one day I’d have one similar !
Thank You Gibson for bringing back the quality and the amazing Standard Les Paul reissues!

In all seriousness - the pups in the Classic, and that particular Slash model sounded the best through my system for what it's worth.

Great video, very informative and illustrious. One item I like to clarify, at least for myself. Tone is always a mental experience, and by no means a will-o'-the-wisp experience, at least for me. ;)
