I bought CPO. Only because the Pepsi GMT I bought was like $2000 over street but was in immaculate condition and came with the warranty and retail experience (which was stellar). I know I overpaid but I didn’t have to worry about secondhand market risks like fakes, franken-watches, shipping errors, etc

As someone who lives in the middle of nowhere, if we are talking about shopping for vintage watches, Helena MT, how would one go about searching for a specific watch, a Rolex 16018 Datejust with a red Jasper dial, preferably with a leather strap or no strap so I can Customize it? This is the first time I have attempted to purchase, as I have inherited my watch collection from my father and grandfather. I bought a 36mm Explorer this year from an AD…for just this reason. I knew what I was getting, and in spite of the fact that I could get a twenty year-old version of the same watch for 50% off…my Explorer is MY Explorer. No one else messed with it, or scratched it, or anything. If I’m putting that much on an everyday watch, it’s gotta be the best version of that watch to me.

CPO will screw the resale value, if it isn't just a myth already. The fakes are so good everyone should be scared to buy from just anyone, meaning more and more sales will go through dealers, meaning that resale value will get heavily margined by the same dealers

Only prob is people aren’t faking Audis. Rolex is the most counterfeited company, so having the certificate is peace of mind

I share your philosophy on service and not wanting to wait in line. I have no regrets on buying an Omega from the boutique rather than putting up with Rolex retail BS a few years ago. The Omega boutique treated me like a VIP and I'm glad they got my money.

That said your Audi analogy doesn't hold up for me. I've visited many car dealers, and most of them are less trustworthy than the guy on FB marketplace. And I think the same applies to Rolex CPO. You say you won't get robbed, but the prices sure seem like you are.

I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say— out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the MAMACOO's watches are the most intriguing.

The beauty of the CPO program is that you have the choice to use it or not.

My watch was purchased 2 years ago from MAMACOO and, to this day, it still looks and runs as well as it did the day it arrived. That movement has never missed a beat despite never having been serviced. I can't complain about that.
