Does the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse RS bring the BEST 3-row midsize SUV for the money?

No one wants a 4 cylinder

It is worth the price. But the V6 engine even with less power, brings more culture and comfort IMHO. I do love my ATS 2.0 but when I get to my XT6 it is a different story in terms of engine culture.

Love the look, love the size, price isn't too terrible BUT Chevy it's going a bad direction sticking tiny turbocharged engines in these huge vehicles. These little engines going to be overworked and exploding turbos and transmissions before 100k miles

Extra 20 grand for paint.. sucks. I own a 2023 lt so much better engine and less gimmicks... Gosh who in management thought this was a good idea?

Looks good from the outside but that third row window make that back row really claustrophobic. I can see many people getting uneasy back there

Order mine RS in January 13 only is it on the internet one look I was hook. To delivery on May 13 was the 2nd one to hit Indianapolis. Extremely happy with my purchase and I love the vehicle could have brought a 2024 Corvette like most of my friends one came and picked me up one day and I said let me out of this little car i’m the only one that rides in the truck 98% of the time love it

Needs a hybrid from Toyota to be optional in the class with all the others.

Well without turbo v6 option I guess pro4x Armada for me

Might as well pair it with 16 in wheels and 11 inch brakes if concerned about fuel efficient that 4 cylinder is only option 😂

I recently bought this exact car. My biggest challenge was downsizing from the power of a 2500 Duramax to the 4 cylinder turbo. I am a middle aged male with a heavy foot. To be blunt, Chevy should have put a v6 in the car. Regardless of how it performs, it will simply be a decision point for anyone buying it right from the start. When you look at a vehicle this big, you immediately question a 4 cylinder versus something more. Especially for $57K. It took me a few days to decide on the car and I was fortunate to have a dealer that allowed me time to demo the vehicle for 24 hours to get comfortable with it. I never really experienced something to support my concern (engine), but like I said in the beginning I immediately questioned the 4 cylinder and I kept telling myself it would be an issue. After driving this for several days, here is my assessment. Would I prefer a 6 cylinder - yes. Does the 4 cylinder perform - yes. But I would much prefer an 8 cylinder over both :). This is a preference, but I do not feel limited. As others have commented, the 4 cylinder is a little noisy if you accelerate quickly, but the engine surprisingly moves this vehicle well. I feel like any acceleration hesitation (perceived or otherwise) I may experience is more associated with it being FWD, not necessarily the engine. I continue to try different driving modes and switching between FWD and AWD. I feel like the car accelerates better in AWD vs FWD as it distributes the power better.

As for the car, there is so much here. This car is amazing. I am on my 6th Chevy in 12 years and this is hands down one of the most enjoyable vehicles I have owned. I moved on from my 2500 Diesel because my needs changed. I needed less of a utility vehicle and more of a daily driver. It looks amazing (especially the red), and comes loaded with options. The interior design is impressive, but not overwhelming. Tons of interior space with numerous standard options (I have the RS). Reclining rear seats, climate controls, heated/cooled seats, etc. And for someone coming from a truck, the cargo space is massive with the second and third row seating down. The technology in this car is unmatched for the price point. Big screens, tons of options. One of the reasons I needed something like this is we do a lot of longer distance driving. The Smart Cruise is unbelievable. This feature is not Traverse specific, but this Smart Cruise has changed me. Drives the car, changes lanes, etc. I am still getting comfortable with it, but I will never buy another car without it.

In summary, I believe the 2024 Traverse is a really good buy. The car is loaded with features and has unmatched curb appeal. The 4 cylinder will always be questioned, but I do not think its an issue. It performs adequately but I still feel like Chevy should consider a 6 cylinder, even if it is only an option to a standard 4 cylinder. I think people will just get hung up on it even though I do not think its a performance issue.

I spent 3 days at my dealer. At one point there were 4 Traverse's being test driven at the same time. Of all the cars on the lot, the Traverse was getting the most attention. They had 4 RS models that just came in and they were all sold before or within 24 hours of them coming off the transporter. My guess is they will see something similar with the 2025 redesign on the Tahoe.

Just bought one 2024 Chevrolet Traverse 2 weeks ago. It is a nice car but Lane Assist does not work. Media Center does no allow you to select music while driving or search music by Folder. Overall I regreat that I do not bough a VW Atlas which has more technology and space.

Joe you’re comparing this to the cx90 but when you look at the price of this vehicle you should be mentioning the cx90 turbo S HP. The 90 turbo 6 is an inline 6 turbo pushing 340HP.

Mild hybrid, v6 (twin Turbo) option for higher trim with better interior materials will make the sales hit the roof. Hope Chevy is listening to its loyal customers and seeing what Hyundai and Kia are offering for the midsized suvs.

Looks great massive mistake on motor! GM should’ve put turbo on the great 3.6L !! 2.7L and a 2.5L 4cyl turbos. Come on GM!! They had to mask the 2.7L and call it turbomax and it still doesn’t sell in 1/2 ton trucks. The 2.7L is good enough for Colorado and Canyon except for needing premium on top models.
