Glove-Talk: A Neural Network Interface Between a Data-Glove and a Text-to-Speech Synthesizer

The original Glove-Talk used neural networks to recognize hand gestures that were mapped to words sent to a text-to-speech synthesizer (DECtalk). The work was done by Fels and Hinton at the University of Toronto and published in 1993 (Glove-Talk: A Neural Network Interface Between a Data-Glove and a Speech Synthesizer, Fels, S. and Hinton, G.; IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, Vol 4, No. 1, pp. 2-8, 1993)
