ОтветитьI need to have my GM card revoked because my players just got 3 swords of vengeance in a single session. I thought it would be funny to have a carnival game that had a slim chance of winning a sword of vengeance. What I was not expecting was for the party to blow the rest of their money on this game playing it a total of 15 times and win 3 cursed swords.
ОтветитьIf a boss fight is too hard, you can also just reduce it's health and have an attack kill it when it normally wouldn't

ОтветитьFor the dangerous encounter on a low level group of heroes perhaps the attack from an unseen Allie is from their future self's because of on these side plots have casted them back in time to that weary moment just before they got killed by the opposing creature as such ensuring their survival and coming back to that point before they have to find a way back to their own time. I mean there are so many ways you can spin a save like that so improve is a gm's greatest weapon and weakness.

ОтветитьA year ago, I pitted my level 6 party against an ancient white dragon. One of them thought to disguise themselves as its old master, and instead of killing the whole party, I panicked and had the dragon pick up that character, flying it away to "safety". Just last night, they started the quest to get that character back.

ОтветитьWhen my party gets a too powerful item there are always some sneaky theifs around them hehe. I also make magical items in a way it has benerits and disadventages. For example a ring which reflects all spells to caster but also is like a magnet for spells. Pro: immunity to spells, con: your party can't cast offensiv spells and defensiv spells on that pc as well.

ОтветитьSo I just started curse of Strahd.
My opening was having my PC’s investigate rumors of werewolves in a small town. There they met a woman who I had RP’ed to get at least one of them attached to. Werewolf’s came and dragged said woman of into the woods implying she was about to become lunch. The party blindly rushed into the woods as mists slowly engulfed them and took them to the dimi plane of Ravenloft.
The point of this post the woman was actually an elite class vampire and one of Strahd’s concubine’s and when the party realized this a few moments latter…. Yea they trust no one. She will be the 1st hard boss later on.
I had to have the fortune teller magically have some tea that cleared a level of exhaustion before they even agree to the taro card reading.
Been watching a lot of content regarding the fine tuning of my own GM skills, and it has given me a lot of confidence that I've been doing a lot right. Many areas I can improve upon of course, but it makes it easier to believe my players when they compliment my sessions.

ОтветитьI had a npc marked as spy and half way though a short campaign I called him spy verogo because I had that written down and not commander verogo. Let's just say there was about 25 insight and investigation checks that night as I tried to DM
