Reasonable points besides the production one. 2020 underground rappers definitely rely a lot more on the production, which has gotten a lot better and more versatile since 2016. In terms of adapting to a new sound we're gonna have to wait a little longer to compare 2020 to 2016 - especially since there aren't many new sounds out rn and the underground is dead

I feel like the reason Uzi, Carti and X blew up because they were new people never saw those type of artists before which played a key roles in their success it’s going to be hard for the new gen to get huge like those artists because everyone already saw it before it don’t care no more

Fam Gl4 a relatively new artist. Hes a little farther than tay k was but Gl4s only really got one type of flow to, the same image as a lot of other rappers in his grene, however I’d say is less popular than tay k. Both are good artists but I believe TAY-K still would have been relevant.
