While this will be the final Gumball Marathon upload, I have good news!
Since this was my last licensed game marathon, I can now happily say every one I've done now
officially "unlocks" in a way
Now, what do I mean by that?
Well, I've always view these marathons in the same way as Speedrun Variety Conquest ones, where there's always been an intended storyline/compilation planned. This is why I've always been going in locations of the shows. I've in a way-- practically given you all half of that. It's the exact reason I chose the types of videos at the end that I did. Those ARE the endings. All these ideas just need to be jotted down in a document the same way my main speedrun videos are.
The only one that got anywhere close near that was "WALL-E Week" and not only was it missing a few important levels due to crunch, but also, from outdated strats, to being in 30fps, and worst of all CONSTANT frameskips on intensive levels it's aged the worst of all.
That's right-- that means the WALL-E one, the Coraline one, the SpongeBob one, the Regular Show one. All of it. I'm open to revisiting them whenever, and they DON'T need a timeframe to hold them back anymore. They'll come out at their own pace. (I'll still probably release them around all the themed level SVC stuff, but honestly, you have no idea how close some of these got to actual compilations)
Hell, while half the retail games forcing autosaves killed that Adventure Time "marathon" and in every single way made it my worst one, to the point a playlist doesn't even represent it- I'll EVEN try a bit more in fleshing that out via flash games and stuff like that! (Finally doing a segmented run lately has heightened the chances of that too) These will just be random drops. Although I likely will go for uploading in bulk, it will be no means daily.
I've decided a good compromise is to display the initial anniversary run date in the playlist desc and just dish out the improvements to existing levels unlisted.
It's why I keep the recording order dates in the first place, so I guess it doesn't matter if some get overwritten. The newer levels will be represented by the recording dates
and there will be no more show/movie specific ones. This really is it now. I have an endgame planned for this era of my channel since ages ago, so unfortunately the day isn't gonna arrive where I do an entire Steven Universe anniversary marathon, or a Foster's Home marathon, or a Teen Titans marathon or a Hi- You get the idea.
Although... who said that all of these had to be done on show anniversaries?
Isn't there something else from the past 10 years that needs to unlock as well?
Something as special?
Another "different" type of anniversary I'm missing?
Does it even have to BE on an exact date?
...I wouldn't know. I'm just Klonoamiyumi.
