Hi Ann! Thanks for the video! I’m cleaning out my garden before a frost and saving seeds from cucumbers. The worms will get the rest of the cucumbers!

Have you ever seen anyone run the tower upside down? Since moisture follows gravity, if the feeding zone were toward the bottom maybe the finished zone could dry faster and the worms would mostly hang in the bottom?

Hi Ann, do you rinse your eggshells? I'm not sure if it was Bentley Christie or Troy who mentioned that the little bit of egg left on the eggshell is actually another source of food for the worms. I know people are worried about salmonella, but this source believed it wasn't an issue.

I like the idea of adding lots of grit to the cardboard layer 👍🏻 The system is looking great! What the heck is going on with your plastic covering??...

Covered my leaf mold bin with cardboard boxes to help retain moisture, the red wigglers I put in there last fall had them gone by mid July.
Going to try intercropping alfalfa next year with my potatoes. Found out this year the jumping worms enjoy straw as a mulch for my potatoes, almost as much as the shredded leaves. Never thought of drying the alfalfa and using as worm chow.
I started baiting out my worms in my outdoor 50 gal grow bags, no way am I lugging those suckers down into my basement. Did a inventory of castings left over from my spring harvests, still have about 15 gal, plenty to amend most of my beds.
Stay Well!!!!

Plastic eating mice?!? They may solve some of our worlds problems!! I love how the inoculating trays look like they are feeding trays after about 3-4 weeks!! That whole cardboard pieces tray is cool to look in on...love the experiment!! Another great one Ann!!🪱🪱🪱
