It is called "cover" because you're performing music that "the original" is available to everyone as a recording. In classical music, where there is no such thing as a "recording of Bach himself playing the fugue," we call it "interpretations." The artist is an "interpreter," and it's why we prefer, e.g. Maria Callas' version for this, Rubinstein's version for that, etc. And this is precisely what you're doing with these "covers." You're interpreting them by strictly observing what's "written" in the original text and yet giving your unique signature that nobody else that I know of is capable of doing within the "covers" artists' community. It is because you not only have advanced vocal training, but you also are cultivating the knowledge and experience of musical performance as a whole.
