Ditty/novelty songs are "not my bag," but I gave a 👍out of love for this channel and the fact that I take away at least a little something of interest to me from most videos.
This was actually a performance from 1950 when Ed's show was titled: TOAST OF THE TOWN (1948-1955) before the name was changed to THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW, so Teresa Brewer appeared here when the show was only in its
third year.
I enjoyed her big hits she sang later when her career really got rolling with impressive material to showcase.
Respectfully🫡
Dang, she's on fire delivering this almost forgotten novelty classic🎉
Ответить❤🎉💃👌
ОтветитьYou could understand the words to the songs then. It's fun to sing along. That's why peter noone is still great.
ОтветитьI'm going to hell for this--every time I hear the four notes to "The Thing", I always fill them in with "dick in a box."
ОтветитьCute song-and gestures to match!
ОтветитьSo cute, and so professional at only nineteen!
Ответить@christinah…really?? what did they come up with?
ОтветитьAlmost as good as Phil Harris, 😂but she left out the last verse 😢
Ответить😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьTeresa Brewer was born Theresa Veronica Breuer. Stage names are, of course, very common in show business, but I suspect this change from the German spelling to Anglican was because of World War II.
ОтветитьShe was adorable!
ОтветитьMusic historians discussed this ground breaking performance for many years.
ОтветитьGreat song 🎵!
This is the day Ms. Teresa passed! RIP on this day:
October 17…
👍
Ответить日本の江利チエミのようだニャ😺これが元!?
ОтветитьThis is a really rare Teresa Brewer video! Her third appearance on the Sullivan show singing a song which was a big hit for Phil Harris. She also released a single of this song which did not chart. Teresa had only two Billboard charting singles by this point, "Music, Music, Music" going to number one earlier in the year (which she performed on her second appearance also available here) and the follow-up "Choo'n Gum", so she had yet to become the consistent chart presence she became from 1952 on through the rest of the decade. Teresa had one earlier single "Copper Canyon" which charted in Cash Box in 1949, the same year as she made her first appearance.
ОтветитьHappy Wonderful Thursday ❤🎉
I'm so happy to see your new video today ❤🎉
