Plfeuger president is by far one of the best budget spinning reals. For a higher cost. The stratic is THE epitome of nicest reals on the market.

Watching this as an amateur that doesn't want multiple poles thinking has anyone ever asked a fishing guy what they would have if the could only have 2 poles/ 2reels, like what I want for what I do is a catfish pole and a spinning combo,

Nice review. Am I the only one out there still using 70s, 80s and 90s stuff? Over the years, I've bought, through yard sales or aquired through family, 50+ rod and reel combos that I still use today. Most were <$10 each or free. I wouldn't mind having a few new set ups but my old set ups are perfectly fine. And with a periodic tune up (Little grease and oil) they seem to be like new.

I like cheap reels more than the next guy but some brands i feel like are left out, Lews makes amazing reels sub $100 and the pflueger trion is the best sub $100 reel imo. It does only have 5 bearings but still it should be advertised

Missing the shimano ultegra, penn fierce,daiwa exceller

I have a Stella. It's great, and I'm sure it will last years, but the Daiwa Legalis, Reveros, and Regal are so good I can't justify the price difference. But that Stella is amazing.

What size braid do you recommend for 8lb and less for the leader knot to stay strong

I bought a Shimano Vanford C3000XG last year. It was supposed to be one of the top reels, but it's giving me tons of problems. I am staying away from Shimano reels. I am a Daiwa reels!!!

Abu Garcia and Penn reels är they not Good?

The only reason most newer reels don't impress me much is how many of them are all about weight relief in ounces.

My old Daiwa Regal is impressively heavy, and I'm a sufferer of chronic arthritis with laughably small wrists. I've never thought to myself "I sure which this thing were made of balsa wood and plastic".

def nice explanation on the shimano range. Shimano and daiwa def great and have a range of reel. The only other brand that also lasted for me and does great reels is Abu Garcia!

I wish you guys explained the difference in use and purpose between the different types of reels while also including the ratio of each you talk about.

Great video guys. Im from the uk so no bassin he unfortunately 🥲…. I’m looking at making some changes to some of my fishing gear this year. I’ve only been lure fishing for about three years. So compared to you guys, I am very much a beginner. .. learning a lot from watching some of your videos. my first two spinning reels were the Shimano Stradic CI4+
Ones …. I have a couple of other Shimano spinning reels and although they have been superseded by the vanford I’m thinking of changing my spinning rods and Plus obviously money talks. Anyway we watch the videos and do you have a video or have you got a video coming up regarding light and ultralight spinning rods ? . Also in your expertise do you think it is worth getting a custom built spinning rod over buying a “ named “ one ?? just a thought.. I know it’s a lot of questions to ask but you guys know the score. I bought a daiwa regal lt 2500 on sale for $39. Definately impressed for that kind of $. Sticker on the shelf said $69 but rang up $39. Not sure if it was a mistake but its nice enough that i may go back and snag another...

What line is the Shimano ultegra? Finesse I assume? It would be a step up from miravel but a step down from vanford correct? Thanks

I'm wanting to put together a ultra light crappie rod. What 1000 size spinning reel would you recommend? I mostly fish for bass. I come across crappie on occasion. I want something with smooth enough drag I could land big bass if I hookup with one on that combo! Some of bass I caught in my favorite places is 8.0 - 8.6 - 9.3 - 11.4 so I know there's big bass around! Obviously I try to catch them on my bass gear! Sometimes big bass eat really small baits

Twin Power FD 2500 and 3000 are so similar with 5.3 gear ratio and 9kg max drag. Capacity and handles are different so which do I get or do I go with 2500SHG. Trout to 3 lbs some smallmouth

Am I the only one who has an issue with ALL the Shimano spinning reels? Shimano shortened the distance between the bend of the arm and the reel foot. It's way closer than other brands. They say it's for better balance but if you have decent sized hands, it crowd's your finger. I will wade fish for smallmouth for hours and my Nasci creates a blister on that finger every time. It's just not comfortable. I have switched over to Diawa reels and the problem is solved. I would love to use Shimano but not until they fix that issue.

The Reveros is 100% the best spinning reel until you spend $200. There is no reason to use anything else until the $200 price point.

Miravel is lighter than Stella

Do these work for salt water

I used to only use budget Shimano spinning reels basically as on a set of guest/backup set ups on stream fishing set ups and used upper middle range diawa spinning reels on my personal rods especially bass and ultralight trout. The exsense was definitely the first Shimano that felt amazingly smooth and solid at the same time. I have a few nice okumas, a Pfluger magnesium ultralight, a couple of big worm drive ticas for the beach rod and my big catfish rod. I still feel like diawa has the better value reels in the 100-200 range, okuma in the 35-80, over 200 I try to stay out of but I would say pick up and handle the Shimanos and diawas in your range and see what makes you smile.

Something of note is that the Miravel is part of the Magnumlite (finesse) series only becuase Shimano marketing says it is, not because it was designed like the rest of the series. The Nasci is not even offically part of the Coresolid (power) series, it really is just a Miravel minus some features.
