There will always be detractors, hiding behind their screens, but when you are grounded in Faith, when you get your strength from a higher Authority, you can never be shaken. Paul, most of us who are with you, when we see a video coming up with Angelina singing a particular song, like this one, we start smiling and know it's a can't miss video! When the camera started to circle around her did you see that little smile she gave toward the camera when she was singing? As much as we love her and enjoy listening to her sing for us, musicians who play behind her take it to another level. Not only do they think she is great but they are in total awe of her because they cannot understand how it is possible for, in this case, a 10 year old girl possess artistic abilities which border on genius. And it comes across as very natural. Incredible. only Angelina...

"She is very, very, very special!." All of us agree with that. I often comment on this video that this is when I stopped using the phrase " for her age". She is as good or better than any of the greats who have sung this song. Steve Ackerman posted a video of a "two-word challenge" where fans could, in two words, express their connection to, their response to, or their assessment of Angelina. You gave a good one with "soul infiltrating". We know how you feel.

She is just the best

Relax, the intro is probably aiming for some kind of halo effect. It ends the moment the song starts.
Watching this little 10-year old sing her heart out AND capturing the very soul of everyone watching is something special, especially considering the fact that Angelina (the prodigy "boss") will have arranged most of it herself!
What I always find most endearing in these early videos is watching her to the very end: We can actually SEE her coming out of her music mode and quietly revert to being just an unassuming little girl!
The main worry is that she is now in 'Murica, having signed up with an 'Murican record label, having left her safe and secure Norwegian roots. How many young stars have we seen go bonkers in that kind of environment?
Fortunately Angelina has a family Shield, she was raised properly in a level-headed society (Norway) and seems to have her head sensibly screwed on. Just consider the barefoot issue! It will take A LOT to ruin that kind of mentality.

This is her band with a guest string section added for this performance. She had been working full-time with her band for about 2 years at this point. She is 10 here. The light is a symbol that a new star is born! Her band always called her "Boss." Not because she and her family hired them, but because, once they heard her sing, they knew they were working with a genius talent. Then she arranged all the music!

The gold standard for this song although her outdoor live performance is just as good imo , and you get plenty of fresh air . great vocals 😊

As for this performance: This is a 5th grader but on the other hand it's a seasoned pro in her 4th year on TV stages.
This is a charity event benefitting Plan international Norway, a Norwegian Charity supporting children. It is called "The Stream gir tilbake (= gives back)" because finalists from “The Stream” (Norwegian TV song contest similar to “American Idol” or “The Voice”) performed there, along with established Norwegian artists, among them Angelina.
The event took place on Friday 30 December 2016 and has been broadcast live on TV 2 Norway from the event hall at Chateau Neuf Oslo (1,400 seats), so Angelina was still 10yo but very shy of her 11th bday on Jan 10th.
She created her rendition when 9yo together with Avicii for his Volvo advertising campaign and performed it before, e.g. on her 2015 Chistmas concert in a famous Jazz club in Oslo (so a 4th grader still).

Thank you for another heartfelt reaction to AJ , this is my favourite version of this song by anyone and she's doing this at 10 yrs old , this is her own arrangement as well , everything that she does is imbued with real love from her giant heart it transcends all else , she finds her way into your heart and remains there like a warm glow, she receives a standing ovation for being Angelina before she even sings, we love any opportunity we get to share how we feel about her, such is the love we have for her and she never stops returning it.💜👣💎

Angelina Jordan ASTAR (the name says it all), this young norwegian genius (now 18 y young) is imo the best singer on the planet! I am 71 y old and have never heard a singer like her in my whole life. Every time she brings tears in my eyes cause her singing is so beautiful. Her voice touches my heart and cleanses my soul.

Just for the record, she was actually midway through 6th grade here (2016-12-30). However, she had apparently already skipped a grade at that point (*), so 5th grade is the right age range to be thinking of.😊

(*) In December 2017, one year after this performance, she was described in an article as being "in 7th grade, while her friends and the other children of her own age attend 6th grade." When she made the music video for "Back to Black" in April 2016, a news story about her said she was in 5th grade (which tracks). Two years before that, in March 2014, she was filmed for a news segment in a school classroom, and some of the children in that footage would show up later in various videos, including the 2016 news story and videos from her 12th birthday shot by her grandmother. Presumably those friends must have been in the same grade with her at least through 2nd grade, and she must have skipped either 3rd or 4th grade. (This tracks with her turning 7 in 1st grade, which I believe is typical in Norway as well as in the U.S.)

We all have the same reaction to that light, but we also know it does go away. And once past the light, it's all magic and beauty, and pure awesomeness.

Just like Angelina touches souls, you touch souls with your prayers. My husband was going to have brain surgery a few days after the first time I listened to your reaction, and I was quite anxious about it, your prayer gave me that peace that passes all understanding.
