I'm a 13 year old avgeek, I remember watching you back in august of last year because I liked to see what pilots did and I wasn't in the learning stage of aviation until a few days later. Sad to see you quit such an impressive career for an unwanted war in Ukraine. May you and your family prosper and I hope to see you talk about aviation more despite.

Denys, are the Ukrainian flight regulations a legacy of the Soviet era and model the Russian pilot aviation practices?

Deny's I was taught to throttle down once the turn completes on final, unless there are cross winds. At the time I was working on my private pilots license at a very windy place adjacent to the Travis airforce base in California. I often had to crab all the way down under gusty conditions. It was an exceptional lesson to have crosswinds, where in many places the calm air offers no challenge. Enjoyed your pilot log. ❤

Like to have the time to make the video daily to give people informations about the war in Ukraini. You make an incredible work And help so many people including me to understand what s going on. You are vital to give us the truth and to underline all the horror the Kremlin is capable of. Thanks again Denys :) Life is full of surprise

I am 39 working in aviation 20 years. I originally planned to fly, however after gaining a job with my first airline, I quickly realised that flying was not as glamorous as it seemed. I looked at pilots like glorified bus drivers. I managed to get myself into college and worked my way up to VP Technical for a large leasing company. I was actually earning more money than pilots and engineers, despite not having an Aviation licence of any kind. But I was constantly stressed, had to take calls at stupid hours dealing with people all over the world. The company merged with another big leasing company and I took the opportunity to take a redundancy package. It was the best decision of my life. I feel healthy, think clearer and have built much closer relationships with my family. I was so focused on making money and moving up the ladder, I forgot what is really important. I think many of us become institutionalised and don’t think we can do stuff outside of aviation. Realistically, our aviation experience can be applied to many industries. We can always go back to it if things don’t work out elsewhere.

actually I am 38, got accepted to a local regional airliner(in ASIA), however am thinking of not joining in. Finished training- CPL through COVID, and did not get offer at that time. I got married, and expecting a child this month October. Found a stable office job to pay for everything including private loans that amounted during training. I asked myself the somber question of whether I wanted to be pilot for the LOVE of IT, or to PROVIDE for my Family, and the answer in my heart was the latter. So, I will be giving renouncing letter to the airliner prob. this month and focus on what I have and can provide for my family. Cannot leave what is secure for something insecure(min. pay OE training, exam, the airliner going through acqusition ,etc..)

As an experienced commercial pilot, how hard would it be to fly military fighter jets, say F16s...here in the States most commercial pilots are ex military...ex military pilots can make tons training foreign military pilots.

I don’t think you recognize your own talent, and the many years you have left to contribute to aviation.
I did not discover you until watching your videos of the crash in South Korea. You have a great talent for presentation, excellent knowledge and you don’t have an ego, something aviation needs. I spent 42 years as an airline pilot and my wish for you is to reconsider getting back into airline flying….it needs people like you right now.

Airline flying is a real grind. I flew regional for 4 years in ATR-42 then was hired by major airfreight. I did that for 27 years. By age 55 I just wanted to retire but felt I needed to go to 60. Covid came along when I was 59. I had begun commuting from mountain state to Alaska. Everything was so screwed up with commercial commutes and my trips to Asia. I just retired a year early. No regrets. I fly my RV-8 and have a couple bird dogs. I take care of my land, hike and hunt and flyfish. Eat much healthier food. Go to bed at 2100and wake at 0500. No more sleep deprivation and jet lag. 😂

If I had the choice, I would choose to be on the ground in a beautiful spot, as you are here, with man-made aviation occasionally overhead and with the original aviators, birds, doing flyovers and ground stops. I’ve spent many a day in field watching geese, crows, swans, ducks and starlings. At best, we imitate what they naturally do. Nice work on this channel.
