To see the part Ricky was talking about Jason is around 27 min.
ОтветитьI really loved Lincoln and when i watched an episode i was really exciting for an Octavia&Lincoln moment, what turned out to be only 30 sec per episode very sad, now i know the reason.
ОтветитьYo this guy is an amazing interviewer
ОтветитьI straight up teared up when Lincoln died...it didn't make sense to me and now I know why. He had so much depth to the character and was not bad eye candy either. I will be watching the new show he is on...😊
Ответитьlistening to the interview again ... such a good one
ОтветитьI love this show, but I hate what Jason did.
ОтветитьThis was such a good sincere honest interview
ОтветитьWouldn't mind no journey
ОтветитьOr the outfield
ОтветитьAs if, i thought he was american, but he's from the north of England like me..
Ответитьyea lost interest in the show when lincoln died so stupidly how u gone not use and then kill the best character
ОтветитьYeah his character was the only one with any real depth. Maybe that is just my opinion but every other character just seems too simple.
ОтветитьIam very very happy that he is in America God's when one door is slammed in your face another one is opened Mr.whittle is a God Adonis that is.
ОтветитьYeah I'm sad and depressed they made him want to leave he was like the only reason I started watching it
ОтветитьI love you ricky wittle! I watched the 100 until you died xD
ОтветитьBut I watch still but its a missimg part
ОтветитьI respect Ricky's candor here and respect for the show.... but I gotta say... I'm not sure if he had to walk here.
There's gonna be ups and downs, and Lincoln's character had a fair share of screen time through most of the seasons. His "background" scenes in season 3 were very stand-out because of the contrast - among a science-based society he... doesn't have much use and his political "image" is a big problem. If he felt he needed to be doing more work he could've found it elsewhere, take up a theater role on the side while his role took a background for a season or two.
He said he wanted out in season 2, which is odd because he had plenty of arc's then, is it bullying to try and make it easy for someone to get out when they want to?
There's some talk about Ricky being a "diva" but I think that's a bit strong, but I think maybe he was overly considering his role. I feel like this could've been a simple creative discussion - a background negotiation instead of going public saying he was being "bullied". I'm just not seeing the evidence of that.
Don't get me wrong like..... I feel like maybe there are things that aren't being said out of politeness. If he was really being bullied maaaaybe he's just not wanting to inflate things, but is gushing a bit about other things to try and draw attention out of a sensitivity he developed to something that isn't being said - or a misconstrued dialogue.
As is, there's not enough here to imply that the creative direction downplaying him was bullying... especially given the incredibly radical creative direction of the 100.
About the idea of Lincoln leaving and coming back - where's he going to go? That's bending his character pretty hard. Lincoln's not gonna bail in these conflicts.
Maybe I'm biased here - I found lincoln and lexa's death really cathartic. Lexa's death being almost a footnote is.... that's life. What a tremendous warrior felled by something so common and incidental - it was highlighting the differences between grounder society and scientific communities. A great warrior visionary felled by a gun - that's historical. That's the sad fact about technology, it strips even the glorious - and Lexa was a dreamer, and the grounders have spiraled without that guidance. That dream was beautiful, but life is hard and it's like Wells. We look back and wish we could've seen what Wells could've done - but that's life. Lincoln's death felt senseless, but it's sort've setting up for the end of season 4, where the real villains are the 100 at times.
I understand wanting to be a main character, to fight for your roles, but he's talking more creative direction than acting. Being an advocate for your own character is a tricky line.
Again, I feel like we're missing some information here because he seems like a stand-up guy and he acknowledged the potential of the bias, so I'm guessing things aren't being said here, but if not... it could so easily be thrown by the greater nuances of the 100's narrative. It's way more deep and maybe he just didn't see it - lincoln being benched was such a memorable plot line to me because it was fish-out-of-water lincoln, embroiled in the bullshit politics of skaikru thinking about themselves.
sigh
I love Ricky, he didn't deserve that shit
ОтветитьHe’s so cute in real life.
ОтветитьRicky Whittle has the last laugh, with his success on American Gods.
Ответитьit's crazy I just joined the show ( around 2 weeks ago ) and the first character I got attached to Ricky (Lincoln) and his death in the show shocked me and it was kinda annoying that this happened cause they where killing people 💯. I'm really sad that he was put threw this , it's sad that people are still like this but anyway I will be finding my way to American Gods. IM COMING HUBBY 💍♥
Ответитьlol watching this with season 5 out, cant believe i never knew of the real reason why he left. He was actually one of my favs.
True what he said tho, about killing off characters too early and sabotaging the film, i mean in every show the first season is always the best, this film being no different. The second season was still great, but 3/4/5 its really bad. I have no other words to describe it other then just bad. Rumours of another season coming out as well, the story line is just gone.
Linctavia stupid Jason
ОтветитьHis death in the show made me cry i just started watching the show on netflix im behind still on season 4 but now i know why Lincoln truly died 😭 support all the way to Ricky , like damn i didn't even know about the lexa thing until now as well
ОтветитьI’m crying rn Lincoln was my favorite I can’t even describe it
ОтветитьRicky Whittle. I was in love with Lincoln. And I loved the Octavia Lincoln dynamic and story, My younger self would be Octavia and my younger self would definitely be in the arms of Lincoln for sure. I miss your character so much, I cried for you. I will check out your new show for sure. Still mad at producer that pushed you out. And then they took Alexa from me, what the heck! I stopped watching it for a while and then Netflix'ed it. If they kill off Octavia I'm done. Don't get me wrong the other actors are good but they don't make me feel the the way you three did. Miss you Lincoln. Thank you Ricky Whittle for a job well done.
ОтветитьLincoln was my favorite character in the show, so sad to see him go. He made Octavia shine!!
ОтветитьI joined The 100 fandom a year ago. I couldn't understand why the actors seemed to have so little independence when talking about their characters and why the fandom hated Jason so much. A year later it's perfectly clear to me: he is a egomaniac narcissistic man, that bullies his fans and by the looks of it, he also bullies his actors and writing team. I know FOR SURE when the show ends that a lot of dirt about Jason is gonna come out and I can only hope that he never works ever again.
Ответитьit quite cute how he talks about Alycia.
ОтветитьDevon is a Snoop Dogg reincarnation, ‘mweh cool, wanna hear that’
Chris Larkin is a sick Eminem impersonator, ‘DEFENITELY WANNA HEAR THAT!’
(eminem fan😂)
My jaw just hit the floor...I NEVER knew he’s BRITISH!!! No wonder he’s so VERY HOT! 🤤🤤🤤 He was one of my favorite characters on 100, I actually considered to stop watching...but needed to see how his girl handled it all. PS. I also thought Ricky was from India 🇮🇳 BOY was I wrong 😂😂😂
ОтветитьIncredible interview but obviously very upsetting. Ricky seems so lovely.
ОтветитьDon't know if he mentioned it and I missed it but why did Jason Rothenberg start bullying Ricky and eventually write him out of the show???
ОтветитьI liked the 100 way more before Lincoln died he was my favorite.
ОтветитьJust to play devils advocate here.... when people throw around the word bully it evokes automatic sympathy and turns the accused into the villain. Anyone think maybe it’s Rickys ego that got him cut out? If the producers got actors emailing him left and right asking about their characters screen time etc. As a busy producer with a huge ensemble cast and you have 1 particular actor jumping up and down about his characters screen time...
maybe he just got fucking sick of handling actors egos with kid gloves
Can you get devon bostick on here? Lincoln and jasper were my favorites
ОтветитьIs so sad that this is happening again but with Bob, Jason is just so disgusting for doing this to both of them. Specially to Bob since he has been working for the whole 7 seasons and just decides for Bellamy to disappear for the whole show.
ОтветитьI want to see Bob Morley come on here now, since he’s no longer under contract
Ответитьhey Ben, can you please do an Afterbuzz Spotlight with Bob Morley??
ОтветитьI hope Lincoln’s character might have a scene on its last season 7 ( time travel)
ОтветитьWho’s here in 2020 after what’s happened with season 7?
ОтветитьRicky has such a kind heart, he did not deserve to be treated like that, Lincoln was my favorite character.
ОтветитьKnowing Hollywood Jason probably made sexual advances to some of these actors and they refused and stood their ground and were punished for it.
ОтветитьMe and my son still watch the show. I miss seeing Lincoln on the show because I loved his character but we’re still interested in the show. Hope to see Ricky play in more shows. He is a very good actor. Love you Ricky.❤
ОтветитьI will continue watching the show but Ricky was why I started watching it. I hope to see Ricky in other shows. He’s a great actor.❤
