I'm v happy for the Trump win. Genuine question.

How do we view this as a political realignment when:

a. Trump was elected in 2016 but then lost to a frankly weak candidate in Joe Biden in 2020. My point here is that the pendulum keeps swinging so I don't see it not swinging back in 2028.

b. So many people voted for the Dems. Trump won and it was a decisive win, but it's still close to a 50/50 split across the county. It doesn't seem like a seismic shift to me.

The globalist liberal left are destroying the West and the tide is turning.

It is a fair concern - if young (especially university educated) women have drifted so far to the left, how will that change?
Surely the answer is a pragmatic one - if you want a safe and stable society in which to live, with the people who have contributed to that country enjoying the conditions which which they can prosper and raise a family, that isn't what progressive ideals will give you.

Good stuff, but comparing Republicans with Conservatives in UK is missing the point. Most US Republicans are just as simp as Brit Tories. The big difference is Trump himself, who is now clearly something like a peacetime Churchill, and who is loved by the same kind of people, for the same reasons.
