Dr. Gauri Kavi’s Swardhara Music Literacy mission envisions taking scientific benefits of sound vibrations by listening and vocalization in the form of Hindustani Music to every individual and establishing a connect with centuries old traditions. Music is one of the only ear-brain coordination activity in routine schooling. It contributes to the development of parts of brain associated with decision making, empathy, concentration & visual capabilities of the children in their growing years. It is also an activity that subtly introduces lateral thinking habits, while working on the basics understanding the sound frequencies, rhythm & their application. The aim of Swardhara is to include Hindustani Music in the personality development regimen, in the growing years of every single child, and not just a select few. We believe it to be the need of the hour – making socially empathetic, clear thinking & aware individuals as future citizens of this country and the world.

The curriculum in the form of Music Text Books & Sound tracks on an App as learning aid for listening and singing along is offered by Swardhara for each student. We train Music teachers to become Music Literacy Experts with specially designed Swardhara Teaching methology to run this program in the schools.

Hindustani Vocal Music is very rich in its content, being similar to a combination of language & science with its structure, flexibility, creativity & experience if right learning is provided. Swardhara team members’ collective experience of 100 plus years in the field of Hindustani Music with learning, performances, music creation & teaching, has made it possible to develop a simplified & holistic curriculum that can cater to the needs of current generations’ learning & expectations towards Music. The curriculum is designed such that it is effectively aided with technology & delivered to the students by teaming up with schools.
