Nothing to do with LED size. Your not using the correct power supply.

If i want to run LED's that are running on 5 or 6 amps, what would happen if I ran them on 22amps? (12v wire on the computer)

An Ohms law will be satisfied no matter what. Ohms law states that Voltage = Current x Resistance. 22amps 12v power supply means that it will supply 12 volts, and as much needed amps, until it reaches 22amps. So if you plug 12V/6A strip into 12V/22A power supply, your power supply will supply only 12V/6A, and LED strip will function the same.
