A nice helmet. To me it looks like blood. There is only one sure way of knowing and that is to get it professionally examined by a lab. The results should stay with the helmet for any future owner of it.
ОтветитьGreat find😀. Always a pleasure to watch👌.
ОтветитьI own a decent amount of KIA's and I 100% think this is one as well. I recently got a shrapnel damaged bring-back from most likely North Africa that has the same kinda blood pattern on the outside. It is a little easier to tell on the one I got only because the pattern is very forensic to whatever munition hit the man on the lighter paint. When blood is not cleaned from the helmet it stains the hell out of the surface. The pattern of stain on yours looks very clear to me as remnants of blood, maybe with the exception of the liner being superficially scrubbed. I have one with a bullet indentation as well that has a seemingly clean liner, but an extremely blood saturated and stained chinstrap that has decayed significantly more over time. That helmet also has the same effect on the split pins as yours; it was clearly never removed but the bullet impact loosened the pins quite a bit.
Ответитьhumpty dumpty had a great fall
ОтветитьNice. I have a Japanese one like that. I have to hide it when my brothers wife comes over lest I have to hear " I dont know why anyone would want that".
