Next time you guys are in Japan, give me a shout out. I know the Japan Company Handbook like the back of my hand, and have produced an annualized alpha of 30% over the Topix by employing Buffet's "start with the A's" approach. Happy to help with translation, too.

Yes this was a stunningly good episode. Someone should make a montage of the eye witness accounts of China’s factories which is kind of topical and supports the idea that the bringing manufacturing to America is a pipe dream. Tariffs will instead crash the global economy.

Should have tried the tea instead of coffee. It's very different to what we drink in the West.

I got married in Japan in April 1990, I was pretty sure that was the market peak, no way it could go higher. Japan was insanely expensive at that time and as you both probably discovered prices are now very reasonable especially considering the level of service.

The interview episodes are great, but it's nice to sprinkle these in as well. Really enjoy listening to Jake and Tobias give their opinions on things instead of deferring to the guest.

FANUC has dark factories in Japan decades ago...I was researching the company at the time. They manufacture machines that make machines.
