Greatest Horror Movie Ever Made!!!

just started watching The Thing (1982) and that mean Norwegian man just tried to shoot that cute doggy. that's not nice. I hope nothing happens to the dog in the movie ! 😀

My favorite moment in the movie (and I agree, great movie) is when MacReady goes to the store shed to talk to the imprisoned Blair.

While talking to him MacReady grabs Blair's bottle of Vodka and takes a casual swig from it. Blair doesn't react, and certainly doesn't complain.

But as MacReady walks out the shed Blair gives a sharp look to that bottle, and at that moment you realize he is still human because - obviously - his is clearly perturbed that someone has just put their greasy lips to his bottle.

Just wonderful acting, and wonderful directing.

Damnit, now i want to see Nick Nolte in the movie 😅😅

In the original movie what got me was the dialogue. They were saying sh** that they shouldn’t know about yet. Watch it and really focus on what they say and it will blow your mind

I must have watched this movie literally 30 times before I found out that the character of Doc was played by Wilford Brimley of Cocoon fame. That is a guy who needs a moustache and looks like a different person without one.

Personally i think Roddy Piper could of taken Kurt Russels role and done as good a job. Easy.

I was watching this the other day and was like. "This is probably the greatest movie ever made"

In the book, the thing is actually a blue monster in its true form, his almost culling of the men gave the film the working title "Blue Harvest"

This shit is great and the 2011 version ain’t got nothing on the OG version

I watched this movie on mushrooms and it was wild.

There's a really old movie theater near where I live that only does 2 or 3 showtimes per week, only on weekends, sometimes not even every week, because it's all volunteer and donation supported. They'll show all kinds of classic movies from all eras. Last year, around Halloween time, they did this movie. That was probably the most packed I've ever seen this theater, which seats a pretty impressive amount of people, like I said it's a really old theater from back when movie theaters were designed like opera houses, it has a balcony and everything. And this was just a regular movie screening; I've seen special events there like movie screenings with live band/orchestra accompaniment, or silent movies with the organ being played live, or screenings that have members of the cast and crew present for Q&A. The Thing was more packed than any of those, and everybody was cheering and clapping at various moments. So I just wanna say: John Carpenter, if you're listening, James and Mason are right, don't listen to that asshole who directed the 1951 version, he's just jealous.

I don’t understand how Mcready was supposedly a murderer for shooting that guy in that movie when the other guy tried to stab him.

The scene with the dogs is legit one of the most unsettling performances ever, and its from a HUSKY.

As good as Alien is, its amazing they could take basically the same concept and make it wholly original and just as great. I just cant imagine how this concept of an alien taking on a group of ppl on one setting and make it just as original as these two movies. Simply timeless masterpieces, both of them.
