Why are Americans so chubby now?
Ответить"The pioneers of a warless world are the young men and women who refuse military service. He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, deplorable love-of-country stance, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action! It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder." -Albert Einstein
ОтветитьQuestion! Can Part Timers have beard?
ОтветитьCurrently enlisted, active Navy and am separating in a few months. Considering joining Army Reserve as an officer down the line. Would you mind shedding some light on your experience, specifically as an officer in the reserves? I’ve read that more often than not, as an officer, you end up putting in many hours outside of drill time in order to set up/coordinate operations for your unit?
ОтветитьHonestly bro I wanna join the army I’m really close to going active duty but I don’t wanna feel like a prisoner ngl ik then bonuses fat but it just would feel a lot better and more motivating knowing I could go home after yk
ОтветитьWhat’s it like for prior active duty?
ОтветитьI spent 10yrs meeting my contract as a officer captain. For what to do not seen be seen as veteran. Army will pull you for war but not even treat you as a veteran. I know because because I got my useless honorable discharge.

ОтветитьWhat’s MOS?
ОтветитьYou forgot to mention the important top 6.......
1. You don't have to pass a fitness test after basic training. There's no reprocussions for failing
2. You don't have to show up for drill weekend every month. There's no AWOL for drill weekend
3. You can get a DUI as long as you're not on orders during your "2 week" training.
4. If you fail a drug test, they'll call you out on it about 1.5 years later
5. If the Army tells you that you're deploying, you can just refuse to sign the counseling
6. You can basically do whatever you want and get away with it because you're not Active duty and on title 10 status.
So with 4 years experience in the marines as an E3 I would be making the E3 4 year experience rate?

ОтветитьCan you bring your spouse/kids to drill weekends?
ОтветитьI spent 6 years in the Army Reserve in the 1980s. There were no benefits, no VA, no health care, no GI bill. Just a paycheck.
ОтветитьGreat video. I get so tired of active duty folks who don't understand the Army Reserve making snide comments. I remind them that we get a blue, now white ID card, entitled to benefits and get retired pay if we get 20 good years. They are also surprised that we get VA benefits if we qualify and that we get Tricare for Life once we reach the age. Maybe active duty is not intended for everybody just like the Army Reserves is not intended for everybody. I find that most folks in the Army Reserves have a job that pays them enough and being in the Army Reserves is a good way to supplement their income and add another avenue of revenue for retirement if they get 20 good years. I worked with enough active duty soldiers and they had a struggle going out to get a job after retirment depending on what career field they had experience in and education. If they wanted to work civil service it was easier to get a job on a contract or civil service after the required waiting time and with their VA preference. They still wind up working another 10 years or more to qualify for another retirement. I find it easier to have built my civil service career and Army Reserves career at the same time then retire 2 years apart and be done. Really good video that explained everything and it will help those looking at joining the Army Reserves.
ОтветитьSo I’ve i go reserves and get tired of it I can sign on and go active?

ОтветитьWhen it comes to the military regardless of, if were talking about enlisting, reenlisting or choosing a MOS there are 3 factors you need to look at.
1. Recruiters have a quota and get paid the same if you are eligible and sign up regardless of if your experience in the military is good or bad
2. It is important to ask yourself the following 2 very important questions: What are you going to get out of the military with the choice you made while you’re in the military and when you get out? (
3. It is your responsibility to take initiative and strategize before you get in the military, while you are in the military, and when you get out.
I'm 32 and thinking about joining. Im just not sure which branch would be best since I have a wife and kid's. My biggest regret is not serving my country. I want to enlist while im still able to. If anyone has any advice please drop a comment!
