Really cool! And zero latency it’s great but the price it’s too much and until March 2023… The handheld market it’s booming and I’m very hyped to see what’s going to happen in the next months. Thanks Taki for your great videos 💪

I was looking for something like this for PC or laptop, but I was wondering if this would work with my old PS3 as well.

It's essentially a universal wii u gamepad, but the draw back is that it has less input abilities than the gamepad.

shame this doesn't have usb c PD with display port. Then it could charge + get display in with a single usb c cable.

Interesting concept in general, but the price is absolutely absurd when considered for gaming specifically. At around $280 before tax on KickStarter (and an RRP of $498 WHAT), you can easily get any number of powerful gaming handhelds (Odin, RP3, even the upcoming Loki PCs) which can stream from a PC with minimal latency. In my opinion wireless streaming via moonlight is a more realistic solution than the HDMI dongle setup or (God forbid) having it tethered. In fact, You could get a Steam Deck + RP3 for both a powerful PC and a smaller streaming device, for cheaper than the RRP of the PeakDo alone. Kind of silly.

Honestly reading peoples comments on this and your previous video, I have to say that I'm sorry that people are so entitled. These videos are free to watch and I don't think I've ever seen you actually advertise a product or ask for money on patreon, or anything like that. That means something, even if people don't want to act like it.

The way people are talking to you and about your video, simply because people thought the title was slightly misleading, is massively irritating to me. I appreciate that people think the title was misleading, and there is nothing wrong with trying to give constructive criticism, but I saw so many people being genuinely rude and entitled and I just think it's a little bit unfair.

Speaking to the other issue people were talking about, which is cost, it's just basic supply and demand. There are hardly any products that fit this exact description (controls, display and wireless HDMI connectivity with basically 0 latency) and so there are people that will pay that price, so they price it that way. The price of the PC is something that the kind of person interested in this product would probably already have anyway. I also only use 'handhelds' at home, not for travelling or going out, so I agree with Taki here, at least with regards to people that don't actively buy handhelds simply so they can game outside of their house. Price is NOT the only reason people buy handhelds, comfort and ease of use is also a reason. If price was the only reason people bought handhelds then even the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch wouldn't exist, let alone the more niche windows handhelds that can cost in excess of £1000.

I personally absolutely love your videos, and I'm not going to have a hissy fit over a title. Honestly some people need to grow up.

I agree this is a handheld, but i think people is reacting to it being handheld because this is not an all-in-one gaming handheld with better screen, this is just a portable wireless monitor with a nintendo switch style controller attachment rail.

Why wouldn't the semantics matte?
I don't care about it, but it seems like you do, and you are on one side of the opinions and some other people are on the other, the solution to that would be to check with semantics what does and does not qualify for a handheld.
Just found that comment sorta odd

It honestly both is and isn't a handheld

It is in the context of your home, but isn't in the context of taking it with your for a long trip or to play during your lunch break

So I guess you could call it a househeld?

Playing games in "handheld mode" is a much more pleasant experience to some people. I as of lately have become one of those people. I play switch in hand held mode 99% of the time and I use Xbox cloud gaming on my phone with a Bluetooth controller. Doing it this way is much more convenient. I'll add that I'm not playing any FPS either so that changes things. Having a device like this even tethered would allow me to play games for a longer period of time more comfortably. That's just my experience and with this setup you have it's going to be people that fit that same category that will understand why you want this setup. Others are going to poo poo on it because it's not a standalone unit, but that isn't the point.

This is not a handheld, you literally just feed videos to it. With a handheld you should be able to play the games anywhere any time. At best this is just a Wii U Game Pad that support more systems.

I have the ZFOLD4, using GeForce Now Streaming Service with the RTX3080ti, and it looks AMAZING, would love something that can compete with that.

I like the idea but joycons aren’t the best when it comes to wireless connection.. would rather have it connect to the device somehow. If someone could make a smartphone attachment with Joycon rails - or even a custom android device with the rails built-in - that would be awesome.

will be great to include a dongle with similar features like "mayflash pro" so we can use the joycons on the ps3, ps4 and xbox consoles 🔥🔥🔥
👉🏻 edit: i think they should include a hdmi extension so we can connect transmitter and put it at front of the console or cpu instead on leaving it behind the console so the signal transmission isnt affected by that, did i explain this correctly?

Idk 350 seems high for me a 200$ price point would be far more compelling imo. At 350 you are almost competing with a steam deck and at 200 it would be more like a switch lite.

The fact that this device is kind of like a zero latency streaming device in a way makes the price point bearable, especially since it’s universal for anything using HDMI
