I need to start taking notes.
ОтветитьI guess that's why people enjoyed my romance story. It's most likely cause they're young and inexperienced. But other times, it's also because I try to be realistic about it
ОтветитьDanger and Drama can help speed up the relationship
Me who's love story is taking place in a short timeframe and currently has the charaters jumping out of cave into a from like 70 stories how into a river because there getting chased by bear
YUP SEEMS REALIZSTIC ENOUGH
I would love it if you someday took a moment to rant about "Jenny's Wedding" - as a prime example of what not to do.
ОтветитьWhat about a relationship that starts off with them really hating each other and then they slowly realise that they have more in common than they thought and they start liking each other.
ОтветитьThe content is not bad, but meeh the voice really hurts my ears...
ОтветитьThe embodiment of perfection falling for a human turd. cough Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist cough
ОтветитьWhat about 2 weak characters? Is that a romance story that should be avoided?
Ответить4 years into the future: After readers, you hear that? Huh?
Ответить“ ...and privates. ” couldn't be more true in romance fics
ОтветитьListening to this I suddenly got excited and squealed when she mentioned separating them and waiting for the kiss to happen
ОтветитьWhen your anticipating all the time but when it finally happens and even tho the book isn't finished yet but now you can't shout at them to kiss already, you feel really empty:
ОтветитьThis is helpful😄👍🏻
Ответить"If they just met, the answer is no, you wouldn't....Unless you're crazy."
Amy Rose anyone?
That was good, Jenna!!!!
Ответить1. Build the anticipation. Give characters time to get to know eachother. Make them root for it.
2. Make them compliment each other. Opposites. Maybe mean girl, posh kind boy. Better when together. Extrovert brings introvert out of their shell.
3. Make them equal. They have to balance eachother. Equal dislikeness. Equal likeness. Both have trauma.
4. Give common ground. Give them something to work on together. Like a mission for example.
5. Make them like eachother. Don’t express love with sex or fighting. Make sure that it shows they care about each other. Make them have fun together. Make eachother laugh. Fighting should be a small portion. Enjoy one another’s company.
Tip 1 (Build anticipation): I can do this. I'm going to be building the romance naturally anyway.
Tip 2 (Make them compliment one another): Fumiko and Thargilit do compliment each other, but I might need to make some tweaks to get it right.
Tip 3 (Make them equal): They both have some baggage, but they're able to support each other through their respective issues and they're attracted to each others forms intelligence (Thargilit is good at developing theory and Fumiko good at applying that theory).
Tip 4 (Give them common ground): They have similar interests and they've both been outsiders for much of their lives.
Tip 5 (Make them like each other): They're friendly with each other for the vast majority of their relationship, and when they aren't they make up quickly because the problems are either minor or externally imposed and they want to make their relationship work.
How do you write romantic chemistry between characters if you're writing the characters already in the relationship? I.E: Your book opens in your character's final year of school and your characters have been dating since grade 10
ОтветитьWhen you’re a writer but also isn’t interested in a romantic relationship and never have been🤠👍
ОтветитьSecks be like
ОтветитьMore problems than a run over dog 😅😅
ОтветитьAlmost four years old and still solid advice!
ОтветитьAfter watching your 4th video, I have just realised you have a beautiful set of teeth. Thank you Jenna!
ОтветитьHi I am a new writer and I appreciate your helpful videos so much 😊
I am also a video editor
I would edit two videos for you for free if you would like🧡
I can also do the thumbnails.
If you are interested tell me thanks 🤠
I love when I pick up a 300 page novel where the two people on the cover are already having sex on the first page. Um...spoiler alert?
Ответитьbut Jenna !!
Ответить"Tease the moment and separate them. GO TO YOUR CORNERS!"
Me: the exact opposite of what Adrienette shippers want ;-; but that's what makes us hooked to it so idk what I want now T-T
"if one Character has got their shit together and the other has more problems than a run over dog then this relationship isn't going to last long."
me that sounds exactly like mine and my Husband's relationship, I am a mess and he has his shit together
The only bad romance is Twilight.
ОтветитьMy MC comes from a rough upbringing and runs away with his love interest to escape a group of people hunting them for their powers…though when the story kicks off they had been friends for years. Balancing that is so hard 😩
ОтветитьAre these tips only for adult romance stories?
Ответить"Ask yourself 'would I be falling in love with this character at this moment?' If it's when they first met..."
Well, maybe...
"... the answer is no!"
But what if--
"Unless you're crazy."
Oh. Well then. Guess I've got some issues to work through then.
Me and my friend who have virtually 0 or less good experience with romantic: Time to write romance. Because why not?
ОтветитьUgh this is so good
ОтветитьIf you have a series, I would say it’s fun to do what I did, tease it until the end of the series. Also I disagree my characters are literal complete opposites and they fit together perfect. One is a shy, cowardly, cryomancer and the other is a outgoing, brave, pyromancer. Also, for fighting scenes, fire and ice is a DOPE combination that they do great together
ОтветитьMan... The plot in my head right now...... Nvm xd
ОтветитьWhen I first started writing my book 2 and a half years ago, everyone was in a relationship, now no one is, and I decided I wanted them to be, so this was useful
Ответитьmine are just friendly with each other also my friend is ruining it lol
ОтветитьI can't be the only person who came here for help with my romantic subplot and ended up getting some love advice that I REALLY needed.
ОтветитьSo I have two characters that have been best friends for three years and one has a lot of emotional problems. Is that a good set up for a romantic subplot?
ОтветитьSooo coool love this
💕💕💕💕💕💕
You can have instalust but instalove - no.
ОтветитьBoth mourning is trauma bonding, not a good idea.
ОтветитьWriting a unhealthy relationship and am now going to do the opposite of everything in this video
ОтветитьMourning a horrific mutual loss is exactly what brought together a couple I'm working on currently. Planning a funeral kind of puts a damper on looking for love, and given they only met because of the loss, neither of them went into doing so expecting to form any kind of lasting connections - let alone finding their soulmate or the like. They keep in touch after it's over and wind up developing a supportive & deeply intimate bond.
Ответитьgreat video: best on the subject I've seen so far.
ОтветитьI LOVE your tips and humour, they save my life lmao!
ОтветитьThey kind of need to be at the same intelligence level, or it will be a short-lived romance.
