post covid china prices have skyrocketed, so yeah, no, this engine at 16k is worth 9k since its from china. The manufacturer isnt even doing the warranty work, its outsourced to someone else. They claim 2,000 hour tbo and offer 500 hour 3 year warranty lol. So they dont even think it will last 25% of the claimed tbo.
ОтветитьNo no no not me no way.
ОтветитьNo no no not me no way.
ОтветитьMake an IO-540
ОтветитьFor 16K as per what one site has it listed for
I could have so so much more
So, it's an illegal copy of a ROTAX ?
HOW do they get away with that copyright ?
FROM ? CHINA ?
Idk if you're selling people on price. I'm seeing the CA500 (100hp) go for around $15k. Paramotor Engines sells a 914UL (115hp) for $15k
ОтветитьWhy are there so few makers of aviation motors? I'm not a pilot nor a mechanic but as I've looked around at learning to fly I've
kinda thought there wasn't much of a choice? Since there isn't much competition, is that how prices are so high? I don't know
but they seem high priced to the point that even pt 103 planes are hard to get going? I'm only asking - only way to learn and I
am glad to hear this interview. I like replacement of motors & strict standards on nuts/bolts & parts. peace
I’d love to see a video of the manufacturing facility,
Ответить"I think the Zongshen is a very good item, A : Complex, compact, high performance engine due to regulated maintenance standards is always a plus for prolonged engine efficiency and function. I support Zongshen(ZD-CkD Aero.)👍
Ответитьno price means its to high im sure. if they were saying look at the rotax and its $100 and this ones the same thing but its $50 . wouldn't that be the vidio right there ?
ОтветитьChinese products? Only when there is external quality enforcement will you get a Chinese product worth wasting your money on, and for me, my life is far more valuable than risking it on a cheap product.
ОтветитьBetween me and y'all... I appreciate the video, and it is good information, however, for the value, being able to use car gas, pricepoint, and power to weight ratios... my money is on aeromomentum. No, I am not affiliated with them in any shape/form/fashion. Thanks for the video.. cant wait to see more on the sonex and vans high wings.
Ответить是宗申吗 卧槽
ОтветитьNot doing very much to gain my trust without giving us a price. Simply Put, “ No Price ….No Dice!
In aviation, trust is everything…..this is an interesting adventure but right now,
Takes me nowhere!
made in china , i know them and i import motorcycle engine from them. bad quality !
ОтветитьZongshen makes drones and drone engines designed to kill Americans.
Ответитьattractive pricing and warranty.
Any plans for a certified version ?
The cheapest motor starts at around $14,000 so calling it the "Affordable" option is comical.
ОтветитьFriggin chinese taking over US economy with american knowledge and cheap labor.... sad
ОтветитьThe Chinese have always used inferior metal....not sure about this product...simply do not know...I personally would only use lycoming or continental
ОтветитьIs this engine ASTM certified? My plane builder won't install it unless it is...
ОтветитьIf anyone are going to make a clone engine, why clone an older one, why the carburators?
ОтветитьWith all the Geo political not to mention reliabilities issues with Chinese products I’m surprised you even give this the time of day! The small saving on this engine will be irrelevant if we cease doing business with China.
ОтветитьSo , why not tell us the difference in price ?
ОтветитьSo they stole the rotax design and made it an unreliable Chinese made piece of shit. Check.
ОтветитьRTV? If they're trying to save time not pinching the O ring by adding adhesive, what else are they cutting corners on? Also, that fuel pump looks like the obsolete style Rotax moved away from. If I'm wrong, correct me.
ОтветитьA Chinese engine 🤔
ОтветитьInteresting engine but where can I find data on engine exhaust emissions? Example at X RPM, fuel consumption = X, Exhaust emissions in ppm for CO CO2 NOx unburned fuel... Please thank.
ОтветитьChinese Junk!!!
Ответитьaww no lol
ОтветитьI have an update. CKD aero is owned by a Canadian packaging company. CKD has never been aviation before and is struggling to make an aviation busines viable primarily because of a lack of knowledge and experience. Zongsen is a very viable Chinese manufacturer of small engines. The problem is that the US has a 25% customs duty on Chinese products. Canada does not have this duty. CKD has yet to sell this engine into America. There currently is no service or support for this engine in the US. CKD no longer has a relationship with the man in this interview. He now works for Gulfstream in Savannah. Zongsen is making no effort to market this engine in the US. So at the moment (Nov 2024) there is no way to get this engine in the USA other than ordering it from a Canadian dealer in Sherbrooke but you will be paying a 25% custom duty once it crosses the border. My friend tried to buy this engine from CKD and the transaction failed completely for the reasons stated.
ОтветитьI have a friend that is in the bearing, and seal business nationwide, he tells me that they sell Chinese bearings at a lower cost, and sometimes they're the best made, and last forever, and other times they will get a bad batch that fails in a year, and these are $30,000 dollar bearings and seals so of course they eat the cost, but in a plane what is the cost when the bearing freeze?
Ответитьidk not such a huge price difference to make me risk going with that Chinese slop... if CKD's incomprehensibly awful customer service is any indication of there product's quality I wouldn't get behind that thing
ОтветитьVery Kool. Because aviation should be accessible to anyone that wants to participate!
ОтветитьChinese
ОтветитьIranians probably use these on their drones. Engine only has to run until it gets to Israel. Depending on where it was launched, that might not be far.
ОтветитьCongratulations. Incredible how they could go the whole video without saying Chinese.
ОтветитьEverybody is trying to solve a problem that doesn’t exist. Cheap is not a solution to anything. If you can’t budget for a good engine you won’t budget for your fuselage or training.
ОтветитьBe great little airboat motor but thats bout it
ОтветитьDoesn't seem like a huge price differential versus Rotax. Not sure cost/benefit/risk works out in Zongshen's favor
ОтветитьA clone. Is that legal? At least questionable ethically 🤔
Ответитьposted 2/3/25 10% terrif
ОтветитьZongshen Aero Engine 100HP is listed at around $35,949
ОтветитьNo Thanku No Chinese Communist Party airplane engine 4 me !
ОтветитьSimply splitting ring section from its skirt, the 2-piece piston retrofit technologies can usher in the advanced hybrid engines. The ring-section is operated via (valvetrain-like) piston-train to pump the gases in the exhaust strokes and reunite with skirt for the heavy compressing and power strokes. This new piston design completes the 4 strokes, different in both displacements and periods, in every revolution – called differential-stroke cycle which is a hybrid of 2-cycle and 4-cycle – to >2.5x power and >20% efficiency gains. For aircraft these strokes can be higher torque for take-off and Atkinson’s for fuel-efficiency cruise. Furthermore, it becomes diesel/gasoline hybrid for compression ignition engine for additional (~15%) fuel efficiency. It can further reduce weight, including the propeller gears.
