This dude was raw strength. If he had any technique, his records could have stood for a century
ОтветитьShaw, hafthor and eddie hall sure are ridiculously strong but paul is on higher league of strength.
ОтветитьStrongest of all time without a doubt
ОтветитьI had the privilege of meeting Paul Anderson at the Bartow Florida Civic Center in 1970 when I was 8 years old. I was in awe of his presence but one thing I will never forget is how humble he was. He will always have my respect as a man and role model.
ОтветитьLegend 👍👍💪🌹❤
ОтветитьWho’s here after the worlds strongest men on history Channel
ОтветитьIf was competing today with all the belts, suits ect... he would of destroy the competition.
Ответитьyeah a 3500lbs hip lift. I do that for a warm up every day!
Ответитьthe strongest man in history is LOUIS CYR,
ОтветитьUr looking at footage of a truly physically strong young man who was a "bull" literally with all his God given talents for strength and power. Impressive. And this was in the days where you couldn't just go buy anabolic steroids to "assist" his efforts. I bet his thighs were 34" each lol how huge his pelvis was. A true mesomorph. He couldn't get cut up if he tried his best. He didn't need to.
Ответитьthe I don't see the modern guys do these lifts with such ease and a look of joy
ОтветитьThe gentle giant
ОтветитьMuch respect, but I seriously wonder if he could do body weight pull-ups. Can somebody please tell us. Thanks.
ОтветитьHe later lost all his records after testing posìtive for unpasteurized milk.
ОтветитьIm marveling at the equipment in the back.
ОтветитьThere's so many of these so called world's strongest men in history
Ответитьbabyfaced and bouncing around like a little kid at the playground... Paul was also a tremendous athlete.. football basketball etc.. great man
ОтветитьNotice NO belt, NO knee wraps! Unreal strength for the time!
ОтветитьPaul Anderson was born 1932 and passed away in 1992. So in 1955 he was only 23 lifting heavy weights

Paul Anderson, the god father of fake weights.
ОтветитьJust wish I could make my cousin proud.
ОтветитьKnow
ОтветитьIn. History??Probably not..Maybe in 'modern history... Louis Cyr had prodigious feats at the turn of the last century
ОтветитьI never get tired of watching this
ОтветитьYup. All pre-roid in lifting. NATURAL!
ОтветитьI saw Paul when I was 15 He lifted 12 guys ona platform at Prince Ave Baptist Church. I loved lifting since then. A man his size saved my life by stopping a run away car on a hill alone with his bare strength, I was 3 or 4 at the time. In Jan '84 after the Ga Cotton Bowl victory in Texas (10 to 9) I damaged my rotator cuff and for 2.5 months I could barely lift the bar. But in those next 3 weeks my connective tissue got stronger than its ever been and I was able to press 405 like the 45 lb bar as if it was paper. My left presses were easily around 800. For the next couple of years I was at my best. In '93 I was away from it a long time but lifted a safe for a bank over 1600 lbs. I had spent more time lifting weights than sleep. Anderson credited all his strength the Jesus and I too. Never touching a steroid or anything to add performance. Just eating high protein of about 6-8000 calories a day, resting 48 hrs between the same work outs and warming up slowly. To me strength can mean the difference between saving a life or not.
ОтветитьThis guy is very influential it's too bad he gone
ОтветитьHes a fat ass
Ответить...in 199FAHVE
ОтветитьI use to drive past his house everyday on my way to work, I miss working in toccoa
ОтветитьFor those that didnt know, toccoa is also where the actual unit from band of brothers show trained at also, up on currahee
ОтветитьSo are you saying the Bible is not recorded history !?!?
I believe Paul believed the Bible...👌🏽👍🏼
Sansom...in the book of Judges...
Without steriods and othe diet aids
ОтветитьI noticed he didnt really use his legs much. Was that the way then?
ОтветитьI like hearing these older fellas talk. The way they tell their stories is great.
ОтветитьLook at Louis Cyr, another contender for WSM. Very similar body type.
ОтветитьI thought Louis Cyr was the strongest
ОтветитьHe has made me love the squat even more, his intense dedication convinced me the squat is the king.
ОтветитьI remember Paul Anderson from when I was a kid. I knew he was a big man and a world record holder. We went to church a lot when I was a kid. I remember him from church news. Thanks for doing the story. Brought back some memories good memories
ОтветитьWhile his clean and snatch seem low by today's standards, back then all lifts were no-contact.
ОтветитьRezazadeh of fifties.....same pure strenght
ОтветитьMy record will stood life time 🤍🕊️🤍
ОтветитьNow, what is this thing about Bob Simpson of Knoxville Tennessee? "I drove 690 almost to arms length" (overhead).
ОтветитьWould read about his feats of strength in the old Guinness book or World Records.
ОтветитьDr. Terry Todd, a national powerlifting champion and Sports Illustrated contributing writer on strength sports told a great story on the aftermath of the famous competition in Russia. Afterwards there was a dinner and a lot of drinking. As they walked out a Russian lifter, upset at Anderson's achievements and recognition, tried to choke Paul's 23.5" neck (not possible, to say the least). Anderson grabbed him and easily tossed him off the wall, at which point the other Russian lifters picked him up and took him away.
