Beautiful backyards, but it raises a question: are we designing outdoor spaces for real daily living, or just for show? Sometimes the pursuit of "aesthetic perfection" feels like it's sacrificing the soul of what a backyard should be — a place to relax, not to impress.

I find it distasteful when designers sh-t on the design choices of the project's previous homeowners.

Beautiful, but uber expensive and totally unnecessary with today's topical wood treatments and stains. If you have the money, great, go for it! But for the normies, put your money elsewhere.

These are all beautiful and the ideas shown can be done on any budget. I noticed from the before photos that a big part of it is cleaning up the space, trimming trees and pulling weeds. Once you have the foundation add flowers and furniture. I buy second hand for an eclectic look.
