Neverwinter Unarmed (3-Moonwood Caves: Akulatraxas)

So basically I'm doing an unarmed run without being a Monk. I'm using a multi-class Barbarian / Rogue (heavily in favor of the Barbarian). There are a couple specific things I want out of my rogue levels, one big part of which is enough Use Magic Device to (a) wear equipment even if restricted by class, and (b) open up wands and scrolls for self buffing and/or other utility. The rules of the run are simple: No equipped weapons (unless a quest is literally impossible to complete without one, such as if a weapon is a plot item or some such - I don't remember the game well enough to say for sure that's not the case at some point), and I must play on Very Difficult.

For both of the dragons I've fought so far I've used up an elemental shield scroll, and I've been asking myself if that's defeating the intent of the run. After all, they end up doing quite a bit of damage to the dragons. But I think I'm in the clear here. They fall into the category of buffing spells, and the damage they do is the result of a thorn-style effect, which is what's used in various games for pacifist runs in order to get enemies to kill themselves. Sucking down heal potions and using the scroll like that are just the resource decisions I'm making in order to survive the fights. Scrolls, in particular, required skill investment in order to use. So I don't feel bad about breaking them out for freaking dragons.
