Surely we're getting to a stage where ambitious players don't want to go to newly promoted clubs in the PL. If i was someone like Poku, i would have no interest in going to Sunderland. I'd rather go to someone like Birmingham or Sheffield Utd on less money. Back myself to have a good season, then get a move higher up. You sign for promoted clubs, you may not even play regularly, you're guaranteed to lose most weeks and may have no real chance to shine. You see the same players switching between relegated and promoted clubs every season. They get stuck in this yoyo maze and nobody else wants them. Signing for a club promoted to the PL is a career killer for so many players now the gulf is off the scale.

I think getting Iversen is best for us and him. I'm sure he'll be great and as long as we don't handle the situation poorly once again, we could serve to make a decent profit on him. I think he'll be too good to stick around for too long so we need to make the most of him.
