Short Barrel Rifle (SBR) Part 1: PWS MK110 Upper

I wanted to share my process of building a Short Barrel Rifle or "SBR". This is definitely not meant to be legal advice, but I'll share a bit about the process I've gone through with the paperwork, and what I've been told you can and can't do. Because they are a class 3 item under the National Firearms Act (NFA), you have to fill out a Form 1 for a lower receiver, pay a $200 tax stamp, and then wait for approval (currently 8-12 months) before you can join this upper to that registered lower. In the meantime, I have a pistol lower built out that I will mount it to.

I wanted this to be a very good quality rifle, so I've saved, traded, begged, borrowed, etc to get my hands on a 10.75" upper from Primary Weapons Systems PWS. It's their MK110 Mod 1 and I LOVE IT! Long stroke piston, light weight, nickel teflon coated bolt carrier group. It brings a tear to my eye.
