Always solid videos, my dude. This should be part 1 of a 10-part series called "badasses that hated Stilwell." You can do part 2 on Orde Wingate and the Chindits or Merrill's Marauders.
ОтветитьI hope we get to hear the story of the loose Tiger sometime aka Gregory "Pappy" Boyington
ОтветитьHello Mr. ELECTRICIAN I have your next video you could talk about. Its called the miracle at gapyeong. 250 Utah Soldiers Vs. 4000 Korean and Chinese soldiers. I think your would like it.
ОтветитьI've read books about most of the people covered by the Fat Electrician and, for me, he adds so much color and a greater sense of wonder for these great Americans.
ОтветитьI heard an interview on the radio with "Pappy" Boyington. They asked him about the T.V. show "Baa Baa Blacksheep." His response was,"If the nurses were that pretty, we would have found a way to prolong the war."
ОтветитьREMEMBER....the P40 Flying Tiger could not move until oil temp was correct AND, the engine had a carburetor. If the plane went inverted.........the engine died.
KNOW your planes.
The P51 was the same until the Brits added the fuel injected Merlin engine.
Another amazing story
ОтветитьGreat episode!
Im sure you know by now, its the USA that promoted communism in CHINA, and other countries. Without Communism, who would we fight? Why would we fund military contracts? Its not like a religious group could become our advisory, and then we would have them to fight, fund, and recruit against them. Yeah, that would. Never happen.
Thanks for the hatd work Nick.
Ever wonder why our government kissed commie @$$ at every chance they got? They let them take over China. They helped the USSR and allowed them to take eastern Europe and never wanted to really take them out. Whats up with that?
ОтветитьDamnit man. Yet another video/story that absolutely needs to be a movie.
ОтветитьDay 1 of asking for a video on the Night Witches or White Death...
ОтветитьOk so I know you normally do American war stuff but... did you hear about the Finish munchkin of doom? 😏
ОтветитьHave you... Never done an episode on Garbo? Kind of expected to see him on the channel; is he just too mainstream of a story for you? :P
ОтветитьI am a born and raised louisiana guy. Been here my WHOLE life. Also been to the wwII museum countless times and Clare never came up. This needs to be added asap!
ОтветитьI'm glad you finally made a video about chenault. I read the book about his airforce and it instantly interested me
ОтветитьI have a ww2 pilot jacket that says it’s from the flying tigers and I just got sent this video by a friend 😭
ОтветитьStill well got what he gave. And I never really understood til now Thanks
ОтветитьThought I knew the story of the Flying Tigers. I thought wrong, this thinking stuff isn't working out for me. Very informative. Thank you!
ОтветитьThanks, nic, for another funny and interesting history lesson. Wish we had more time in classes to learn about people who did make a difference in the different wars. So once again, thank you for what you do.
Ответить@the_fat_electrician I wad in the 75th flying tigers and you should do a follow up video about their actions with modern day A-10 warthogs and their deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. Highway of death and all that baby

What australian unit was associated with the tigershark motif?
ОтветитьMy grandfather was one of the mechanics for the flying tigers. My mom loves retelling the stories he told her.
ОтветитьI'll take the farm boy on my squad all day.
ОтветитьTell me more of these unrecognized heroes of war that we never got the chance to learn in school. (Thanks, DoE)
ОтветитьKeep up the wonderful work my man!!! Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
ОтветитьI grew up on Chennault stories. He was the inspiration for my uncle, another poor farmer's son, joining the Air Force (as a mechanic). Despite not being born here, he is generally regarded as a Louisiana Boy.
Ответитьthe flying tigers featuring John Wayne
ОтветитьThe Merica in me was so proud you used "fight the japanese" as a euphemism for "fuck shit up". This is customary for fucking with said boats
ОтветитьCan't read the quote at the end with bullshit covering the video
Anyway, this just goes all of the way back to your video explaining military officers
The Tigers did not have "appropriate leadership" and so they just defaulted into aggression and fucking shit up and depriving the enemy of nice things.
Now, take a moment to imagine how WWII would have turned out in the Pacific theater if not for the Tigers.
Oh we still would have won. No doubt. They touched our boats, and we're not big fans of that idea, so we were gonna win no matter what.
But if the Tigers hadn't been there in the early months to wreck house, victory could have required 3 or 4 more atom bombs.
Disposable tactical combat equipment should be a T-shirt.
ОтветитьBubble plains
Ответитьnow an even better memory to remember whenever I hear leather face ^_^ can't wait for the next one!
ОтветитьIm sorry. The last thing a free world can do is not say I'm here to help. Watch the whole video
ОтветитьAmerican history is made up of poor dam slubs [ heroes) who somehow keep showing up> somehow. Do you need a dam list to believe it?. None of the worlds tin pots[ dictators] believed it either. Question for you, when the heros don't come anymore what are you the rotten elitist going to do? Scary thought ain't it?🏴☠️🇺🇲
ОтветитьThank you for bringing these stories to light. My Dad was a spy in occupied Paris in WW2, and you both have told similar stories.
Ответить91B2P 71-74 combat medic old school MOS code for 68W.
ОтветитьThe only part you left out was Chennault AFB in Lake Charles, LA. (now closed)
Important for two reasons. Named for him. I got started there. Born in GA with Cajun roots! Newlyweds 🙄

Ответитьgentlemen air duel in WWI ? maybe at first but rapidly not at all.
