I've read books about most of the people covered by the Fat Electrician and, for me, he adds so much color and a greater sense of wonder for these great Americans.

I heard an interview on the radio with "Pappy" Boyington. They asked him about the T.V. show "Baa Baa Blacksheep." His response was,"If the nurses were that pretty, we would have found a way to prolong the war."

REMEMBER....the P40 Flying Tiger could not move until oil temp was correct AND, the engine had a carburetor. If the plane went inverted.........the engine died.
KNOW your planes.
The P51 was the same until the Brits added the fuel injected Merlin engine.

Im sure you know by now, its the USA that promoted communism in CHINA, and other countries. Without Communism, who would we fight? Why would we fund military contracts? I grew up on Chennault stories. He was the inspiration for my uncle, another poor farmer's son, joining the Air Force (as a mechanic). Despite not being born here, he is generally regarded as a Louisiana Boy.

The Tigers did not have "appropriate leadership" and so they just defaulted into aggression and fucking shit up and depriving the enemy of nice things.


Now, take a moment to imagine how WWII would have turned out in the Pacific theater if not for the Tigers.

Oh we still would have won. No doubt. They touched our boats, and we're not big fans of that idea, so we were gonna win no matter what.

But if the Tigers hadn't been there in the early months to wreck house, victory could have required 3 or 4 more atom bombs.
