The one I got was 649.00. They marked them down to 150.00 at midnight when this announcement came out. I went out to a 24 hour Walmart after calling around to find one that had one left in stock that they were holding for me. Someone else was there also wanting it and threw a can of peas at my head in the store over an aisle because they missed out. I still had it up until 2 years ago. It was still working although most of the apps were no longer supported.
ОтветитьWebos was so good
ОтветитьIt's a lot smoother than i thought it would be
ОтветитьI hate UNO
ОтветитьDude it's really good😮
ОтветитьI dont understand why Hp discontinued it so quickly, certainly something was systematically fishy to let ipad catch the market.
ОтветитьOh wow this is v gnome like!
ОтветитьHad a dev version of it while working on NFC demos back in the day. The API was way better then the Windows Phone 8 API and equal to the Android API. Unfortunately they quit it so never had a chance to go on a worktrip for this to the US while living in Europe.
ОтветитьSo apple literally just blatantly copied their multitasking card function? Classic
ОтветитьWeb Os is neat unfortunately there was no many apps created. I was owning hp plam phone and hp tablet finally installed android. Hardware is very powerful for the time
ОтветитьImagine being someone who grew up in the SNES era watching super mario kart being emulated on some shitty 2010s tablet
ОтветитьWebOS was the freaking best
ОтветитьI am older guy but I have 2 working TouchPad. One is duelboot. The other straight WebOS. Love em
ОтветитьHP Touchpad was only tablet that had Apple tech with Apple audio
ОтветитьI feel almost entirely ambivalent to Uno. I have never played it.
Ответитьmy LG tv has webOS
ОтветитьOh wow, this is a blast from the past. I remember all the people desperate to get one. People were even trading reservation numbers for them.
ОтветитьI am unemployed
ОтветитьYou said that it was discontinued after 49 days, but then you said they lowered the price to 99 dollars after 49 days, and HP manufactured more after the price drop. So which one was it?
ОтветитьI had the keyboard and used it for my iPad for years. Great keyboard. Got it on clearance for less than $20
ОтветитьI remember buying one to put Android on it but never got around to it. I then gave it to my parents whom I imagine crammed it into the back of their overstuffed closet and completely forgot about it. I kinda wanna resurrect it after watching this video.
ОтветитьI have one of these that I got over seven years ago and the battery had the a dancing button light problem that MJD had. I was able to get it running again by taking the back panel off and directly connecting a 1S charger directly to the connectors for the battery. I got it working again and somehow the battery was still working well enough to be able to take a full charge and actually have a normal battery life. And just like this tablet, I set up my webpad to dualboot to Android. It's clunky and chunky, but still works extremely well, not that I use it terribly frequently.
ОтветитьThe interface kinda reminds me of Gnome 3 a bit.
ОтветитьI remember flying to circuit city when these were on fire sale
ОтветитьYou HAVE UNO
ОтветитьI still have my 32gb version of this. That blinking home button light did happen to me before. I kept it plugged in for around 2 days until it started to charge again. I also have the HP cover as well.
ОтветитьThese were great devices!
ОтветитьWebOS means eggs, also balls in some slangs here in México
ОтветитьI'll never buy another HP product after the endless, ridiculous problems I had with one of their Omen laptops a few years ago. I hope the quick cash grab was worth a potential long-term customer.
ОтветитьI hate uno
Ответитьi had no idea it was discontinued so fast. i grew up with one of these, good tablet that I used for so many years
ОтветитьYou can swipe down in the task switcher to "launch" an app into oblivion, angry-birds-style. I think either Android or iOS copied that later.
You can just jump-start the battery so it goes above some certain voltage instead of buying a new one. The old one probably still works.
Bought one of these during the firesale, it was crazy, had to enable the browser developer mode to get past a step which was stuck. Used it with Android for a few years, mostly for travelling (there were no light affordable laptops) where I could upload my photos via OTG, edit them, watch movies, read books. The 1GB RAM limitation was becoming bad at one point but I have it to my mother and she has used it for another few years. The tablet still lives, though through daily usage it looks a bit worse for wear.
I know everyone’s talking about the fluid multitasking that Android and iOS copied, but holy heck they did the “corner shortcut back to app” five years before Apple introduced it in iOS 9!
ОтветитьLet's face it, HP never make anything that works
ОтветитьFor a fourteen year old device it’s smooth, smoother than some 2-3 year old android phones
ОтветитьThis tablet was my childhood! My dad bought one for me and flashed CyanogenMod (a modified Android ROM, succeeded by LineageOS) onto the tablet, and I played many classic Android games such as Angry Birds on it! It was my first ever tablet!
ОтветитьI got one of those from my aunt when I was young and used it mainly for reading pdfs and didn’t even know what OS it had
So glad i came across this video
Wish I still had it so I can install android on it
I loved my HP Touch Pad., Webos was nice.
ОтветитьIs HP still in business?
ОтветитьI worked at best buy during this. I did elearnings on the HP Touchpad and actually won one. HP let us know they were going to issue a 1099 due to the dollar amount of the device won but then when they slashed it to $99 they let us know they were no longer going to 1099 us. I gave it to my father-in-law and it worked well enough for him for several years. The wireless charging feature of it was nice and ahead of its time.
ОтветитьHe didn't say the latest Android version which you can get 9.0 at least
ОтветитьWebOs means eggs in Spanish and it's used for referring about the male reproductive system.
ОтветитьI've still never forgiven HP for killing webOS. I have my Pre2 still in my desk drawer. It was an OS way ahead of its time
Ответитьwireless charging at 2011?
ОтветитьI snagged one of these for 99 bucks back in 2011. Such a cool idea that didn't work out :(
ОтветитьI will never purchase another HP product because they killed this thing.
ОтветитьThe only reason why it failed is because they didn’t really make it easy to develop for. That’s why Android won in the end, basically no barrier to entry for developers
