Why are open diffs even made? Every car should have lsd
ОтветитьAxial force is induced
ОтветитьWhat I get out of this is the tire with more friction, that side gear is not moving, torque from the bevelled action of the spider gear will push that side gear out, causing clutch pack on that side to lock.
ОтветитьMan i sure do love LSD.(im not a car guy)
ОтветитьReally good video it helped me so much.
Ответить🎉
ОтветитьGreat video! Very, very informative! Thanks very much for providing this!
Ответитьim a bit high, so i dont understand at all and ill try to find another video for idiots, but! i really appriciate the work behind this video, and just all that sh*t about it that you had to make, just to explain how it works, thank you, you got my subscribe
ОтветитьBrilliant. How many zillions of variations were tried?
ОтветитьThanks for explaining this because I could not figure out how this will work any different to an open diff, but now I understand that it is the spider gears trying to separate from the torque that puts the pressure on the side gears and tightens the clutch pack. Thanks for this information.
Ответитьnice explination
Ответитьman... we should've had electric vehicles decades ago ... this is a solution to a problem that should've never existed in the first place
Ответитьarticles were invented in 1292
people in 1291:
10 years ago.. good video.
ОтветитьSo is the puddle side not the side where the high friction pads are pressed against the casing? It’s just the animation shows the puddle on the right and then displays the LSD action on the left. Sorry if I am misunderstanding just looking for some help understanding.
ОтветитьBest parts of video are when it talks about clutch pack
ОтветитьHelpful and entertaining
ОтветитьBut how?... Some smart people did this.. I still can't comprehend how it works 😂
ОтветитьAmazing that people get affected by this every day but they have absolutely no idea what it is and they don’t know how it works. This is insane and incredibly sad. Thank you so much for making this video available to everyone because people need to know this outstanding stuff, even if they don’t need to, because it is so beautiful.
ОтветитьWhat software do you simulate it with?
ОтветитьA differential
ОтветитьPlease stop calling it an "LSD"
Ответитьvery interesting, I love LSD
ОтветитьKind of like a motorbike clutch with the friction plates.
ОтветитьExcellent condition explanation. I didn't get it until you explained the movement the gears have and how resistance will force the gears away locking them. Then it made sense.
ОтветитьOhhh so that's why my e30 lsd decided to act as an open diff, the clutch pads are worn-out 😂
ОтветитьJust alternate by the hydraulic compressing brake to reduce rpm of the axle of the wheel steering to
ОтветитьAh yes cars always need LSD to work efficiently
ОтветитьMan in video sound smart but talk dumb. Is he smart caveman or dumb mechanical engineer? World will never know.
Ответитьthis was amazing! Thank you!
ОтветитьIt's a similar clutch pack like on motorcycles but it's in two parts and it's using the spider gears as the force that pushes them together to engage when the load is High Enough
that's actually pretty ingenious.
I once had a radio control buggy that had a normal open differential and whenever it got stuck and one of the wheels were free even though one of the Power Wheels were touching the ground
the one that was in the air would spin freely at high speed meaning the buggy was stuck.
A limited slip differential would have helped in that instance. I didn't understand what was happening all I knew what was the behavior when that would happen not the reason.
this makes so much sense now.
Gotta love that LSD mmh~ ;)
ОтветитьI drove a car before.
ОтветитьWow, this is so cool
ОтветитьHow on earth the engineer found this mechanism. Genius
ОтветитьI love using LSD out in the woods. It helps get me through rough patches, when I feel like I'm just spinning my wheels.
ОтветитьIs possible to put diff lock in a vehicle that doesn't have one and its not a 4*4... to be specific the Toyota hiace diesel rear wheel drive
ОтветитьHis English is fine. It's his ability to narrate, that is perhaps lacking. In that
His lines sound too read-dee. But you also have to consider, he's relating an extemely complicated system to the general population! Who probably think positraction is the time they take to put the breaks on a relationship! Lol
Gotta love LSD
ОтветитьI love adding LSD to my car. Makes for a real trip
ОтветитьI should have studied mechanical engineering
ОтветитьThis script was written by Kevin from The Office in his small talk phase.
ОтветитьWhy waste time say lot word when few word do trick?
ОтветитьSuperb 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
ОтветитьSlick.
ОтветитьNew to the channel, lsd rear drive far better than wfd with torque steer
ОтветитьInstead of using friction plates that wear out quickly, why don't they invent something like the synchronizer blocker ring in manual transmissions to lock the plates (orange and blue) together.
Ответитьbeautiful video - One feedback though , why kept a water mark that makes the picture unclear ?
