J'ai plus qu'à me souvenir de ces expressions. C'est le problème, ça...

Mes phrases: Aujourd'hui, Je m'est reveillé très tôt, et après avoir fait les ménages, j'ai commencé à étudier les verbe avec leurs bons prépositions. Plus tard, vers l'après-midi, j'ai regardé le film qui s'appelle, 'Demain, tout commence', je recommande ça d'ailleurs. À 6 heures, mon frère et moi, on est fait la cuisine et puis on a mangé avec toute la famille. Mais avant le dîner, on n'avait qu'à mettre le désert dans le frigo. Maintenant qu'on a fini le plat principal, on n'a plus qu'à sortir le désert du frigo et dégustez-le. Quel jour!

Thanks for your lessons. A great way to move my french on. Hopefully it will improve my comprehension, which I have always found more difficult than speaking. One question : I know there are some instances when we don't make the liaison in french, but I have always thought it is made between Apres and Avoir. Have I been wrong all this time?

Wow, this was a deep dive into some expressions that probably would have just flown right by my ears when listening to a French conversation. Although I might have gotten the gist of what they were saying when hearing these, I wouldn't have been able to understand it word for word until you explained it here.

I found another useful expression with a very similar meaning: avoir intèrêt à. For example: T'as intèrêt à être là à l'heure. Roughly meaning you'd better be there in time.

Quand je pense à la myriade de nuances que le Français permet, et qui me sont totalement intuitives, je suis ébahi à la fois par la précision avec laquelle tu les expliques mais surtout les efforts que tu déploies pour les comprendre. Where were you in 1993 when I moved to the south of France with my British wife & our three little kids; me, with my circa 1963 American high school French, & my wife with even less. Yes, we got by, we survived, & we found ways to make exchanges, trade language lessons & advance, albeit pitifully, but at times properly.
The courses you offer would have been an absolute bomb, a treasure of a resource in the 90's. But I suppose you were but a young squirt then & had little to offer.
Mais tant pis, voilà, c'est comme ça, et maintenant tu es un pro, on avance, et le passé est le passé, et même à 74 ans, je vais m'en profiter de tes services, et de ton détermination d'aller au fond des choses (choses grammaticale, au moins en francais). Yo, Alex, bien joué et merci.

apres avoir regarder votre vidéo, il suffit de laisser mon texte. j'ai quelque chose à faire, par exemple, crée une nouvelle idée à dire(taper) ! je n'ai qu'à penser à quelque chose intéressante, et voila, je suis presque fini. maintenant je n'ai plus qu'à l'envoyer.

Personally the most instinctive thing for me would probably be Il me faut/te faut/lui faut etc. ,'cause you don't have to remember the subjonctif form in this case,yet the structure is rather familiar due to how much emphasis is being put on the subjonctif in the learning process. And if I wanted to add "just" there I can just throw in the "que" from the "ne...que" construction,alors il me faut qu'ajouter le "que" de "ne...que" construction
