I wanted to tell you, when feeding cores to vassals, I think transfering occupation of the cores to the vassal and then manualy selecting them in the peace deal will make you able to take a bit more land (as it make you use a bit less % on the peace deal for the land than return-core option). Maybe you could have taken barcelona from aragon with this trick

I attacked Epirus, but they got annexed by the Ottobros before sieging them. But they had called the Pope as help, who became the main attack target (without any allies in the war) when Epirus was no more, so I could annex everything besides Rome with no coalition. Got the Burgundian inheritance within the next 10 years. Suffice to say Rome got great again.

if you do not have DLCs, you’re fucked, you’ll barely have any meaningful allies or means to acquire them, Aragon will always ally with powerful states that’ll always join against you if you try to gain independence. And your limit of 14k troops and 15 ships are gonna do nothing when Aragon alone has 16 troops and 24 ships, and you can forget about it if they have even 1 ally with a fleet, you might as well delete the game or just play a different country at that point.

I get this is an old video, but I just wanted to say that even though the Ottomans wiped out Byzantium and Epirus. You’d still have a chance to release Byzantium as long as you take the provinces belonging to Genoa in the Aegean Sea, shortly after conquering them you’ll get Greek rebels which in turn grant a Byzantium core once they take the province. I found this out randomly by chance/luck in one of my campaigns a long time ago.
