I love Snake's Revenge, it was always one of the hardest games in my collection but the soundtrack is so bad ass. And once you get the hang of it you can really feel like you're a one man 8 bit army
ОтветитьGolgo 13 is based on an anime of the same name, if you weren't aware.
The first person maze section sucks a lot, but if games like Dungeon Master, or even Phantasy Star have taught me anything, it's that they were popular enough to spawn sequels.
definately give the mafat conspiracy another try. the 3d mazes are better than in the first one where there were pits pretty much making it impossible to map. i never got very far in the first game but i beat mafat conspiracy. the final "boss" is pretty difficult. you still get 52 continues like in the first game (i assume it's 52. i found out the reason for 52 is either the original anime was 52 episodes, and each time you die you start a new episode, or that's a number some anime's reach) it just doesn't keep track of how many and you don't know you've run out until you see the opening cutscene before the main menu.
Ответитьsnakes revenge is why hideo kojima created his own sequel. if snakes revenge had never been made we might not have everything that was released including the solid series.
ОтветитьI enjoyed the originals games to Flying Warriors, and The Little Ninja Brothers, but I fell in love even more with the SNES third in the series releases. The crossover appearance each have in Super Ninja Boy is great.
ОтветитьAnother game that's a sequel to a franchise.. "Legacy of the Wizard" on the NES, its actually Dragon Slayer 4: Drasle Family. It has more to do with Dragon Slayer 2: Xanadu and Dragon Slayer than the Xanadu Spin off, "Faxanadu". Faxanadu is more of an action platformer.
ОтветитьIt’s so refreshing to watch an intelligent, Nes-focussed channel without the try-hard, cringey skits. Only Game Sack manages to get skits right.
Ответить"Has anyone ever enjoyed these first person mazes?"
It is I! The one person who loves labyrinths, mazes, every first person dungeon crawler to ever exist, and yes, even these crappy and laughably limited NES maze levels from the likes of Fester's Quest and the Lone Ranger :)
I'd never guess a game with the explicit subtitle of 'Startropics II' would be a sequel
ОтветитьAll the pig buttholes you can shake a stick at - hooray!
ОтветитьDon't take this the wrong way but did you not do any research on these games? Gogol 13 in an anime.
ОтветитьLots of love for Little Ninja Bros. It has one of the best fourth wall breaking jokes I've ever seen in a video game near the end. I don't want to ruin it for anyone who may be curious. But my brother and I were PISSED.
Ответить"One of the only NES games with an implied sex scene"... and you didn't mention that once again, it's like Zelda 2? :P
ОтветитьNo Shadowgate/Deja Vu/Uninvited? Or did I miss that in a previous episode?
ОтветитьGun-Nac is my favorite NES game though I had to settle for a repro copy.
ОтветитьThe subplot of The Mafat Conspiracy is a really interesting meta analysis of nutrition dealing with both curds and whey.
Ответитьyour voice sounds different when you are doing voice over a video clip compared to when you are filming yourself. Try finding finding a position towards the microphone that let your audio recordings sound more seamless when editing. I think it would really spruce up your whole clips. Beyond that I have nothing to complain about. Great video!
ОтветитьI had Snake's Revenge growing up, it is a bit challenging to get used to, but with practice you can get to the point where you can handle the enemies fairly smoothly. The issue I always had was that it was possible to end up in a walking dead situation by exiting an area without one of the key cards, and I never managed to beat the title.
ОтветитьFlying Warriors have their own spin off for the Game Boy, called Fighting Simulator 2in1, aaaand the sequel on SNES, called... Ultimate Fighter...
ОтветитьSooooo Faxanadu.
ОтветитьBeasteality in a NES game? Thrilla gorilla has a human GF! Lol just playin
ОтветитьMan, the wall of games at Toys 'R Us is such a specific memory.
ОтветитьZanac is one of my favourites NES Games, love the music and sounds :)
ОтветитьI actually do feel asleep. 😳
ОтветитьThat Hoodie you have on in this one is pretty awesome. Myself and white clothing don't get along well though.
ОтветитьVery cool video, loved Flying Dragon as a kid, going to play Flying Warriors
ОтветитьSweet hoodie
ОтветитьI question the premise of this video.
Like even as a kid it was extremely obvious to me the first time i saw the box of Snake's Revenge it was a sequel to Metal gear. As i assume it was to anyone who'd played the first. Same dev and graphically it looks about the same with slightly better graphics.
Flying Dragon and Warriors is also obvious as again the gameplay is the same and there's the word Flying.`I loved both games which i discovered as rentals but only got to play time a handful of time.`
Like if you just go by title ok but if you even saw screenshots of these games you knew they were a sequel as long s you'd played or seen the first game. the only one i'll give you is Little Ninja Brothers,
.... lol did you say engrish?
Ответитьwow I had no Idea anybody else had ever played Kung Fu Heroes and I had no clue that they made a Sequel.
ОтветитьI always pronounced it "may-fat" as a little boy.
I hate mazes in games ESPECIALLY first-person once.
I remember that there was some advertising that linked Snake's Revenge and Metal Gear, though the best Snake's Revenge ads were the ones that promoted both it and one of the Contra sequels. Something like "If the world ends tomorrow, it's your fault" with newspapers that had headlines like "Terrorists Go Nuke" and "Aliens Invade Manhattan" or something like that
ОтветитьI had Flying Warriors as a kid, never got very far didn’t understand wtf I was doing especially with the one on one fighting levels
Ответитьunless you like F13 for NES you don't like the mazes, you guessed it! F13 for NES fan here!
ОтветитьKung fu heros deuce?! Ya i had
Zanac!
I loved zodas Revenge, that and Tetris 2 for the last two games I bought from Toys R Us brand new
ОтветитьTNC Surf OMG
ОтветитьNever knew T&C surf design had a second game WOW!!! Thank you for that
ОтветитьWhat about Gradius and Lifeforce?
ОтветитьI loved Golgo 13. It was one of my favorite games for the NES.
ОтветитьMy brother and I sunk so many hours into Little Ninja Brothers.
ОтветитьNice math rock mention. Love me some math rock.
ОтветитьProbably didn’t need to blow a racist dog whistle and say “Engrish”, when you are well aware that the text is limited in English translation on the cartridge. It’s not that the translators don’t understand the language. Quit it with the Mickey Rooney stereotype
ОтветитьFist your way through dudes you say? 😅
ОтветитьI remember going to toys r us. We took the paper tag for a game. They ended up not having it up front.
But then my sister and I saw a physical copy of Super Mario 3, which had looked sold out. No tickets left on the wall.
But we said, "What about that?"
Later we played Super Mario 3 all afternoon and night.
Compared to playing Mighty Bomb Jack and be severely disappointed.
Even with the instruction booklet, it is a very unclear objective.
